Apprenticeships in Canada provide a "learn while you earn" model that equips students with practical skills and opens immediate job opportunities. Programs like the ones at Red River College in Winnipeg allow apprentices to be employed from day one, ensuring a 100% employment rate. Apprenticeships offer diverse career paths in skilled trades, with options to travel, start a business, or even move into management roles. This approach also breaks stigmas associated with the trades—modern advancements have improved safety and working conditions significantly. Students can enjoy job satisfaction, meaningful work, and high earnings in various industries that continue to evolve and offer high-tech opportunities. Skilled trades are becoming a top career choice for many, with a wide range of opportunities available across Canada. "A new program to more quickly integrate internationally trained doctors into Nova Scotia's health system is set to begin in the new year. Premier Tim Houston announced Tuesday that a new Halifax-based clinic will assess the skills of international medical graduates while the foreign recruits provide primary care to about 2,500 patients. The program, he said, will significantly cut the assessment time for prospective candidates to about 12 weeks from the current 18 months." "Graduates of the program will receive a licence to practise in Nova Scotia and will be required to sign an agreement to work at least three years in the province." https://lnkd.in/ghp77g2r

As the demand for skilled trades in Canada continues to rise, Ontario is stepping up to build a stronger, more prepared workforce. The provincial government is investing $26 million in a new training centre at LiUNA 183’s Vaughan campus. This investment will enable LiUNA 183 to train nearly 50,000 additional workers, doubling its current capacity to 100,000 skilled professionals. This initiative focuses on in-demand trades like bricklaying, heavy equipment operation, and concrete finishing—critical to meeting the growing construction needs across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). With such efforts, Ontario is creating opportunities to close the gap in skilled labor, helping drive the economy and meet the demands of ongoing infrastructure projects. Now is the time for those considering a career in the trades to take action and seize these new opportunities!https://lnkd.in/g6vzvTTJ If you are approved for immigration to Canada and are interested in exploring Skilled Trades as a career option, register here https://lnkd.in/eykwpPr to access specialist support. #SkilledTrades

Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay. This year with the theme “Mental health at work”, World Health Organization is “uniting with partners to highlight the vital connection between mental health and work” https://lnkd.in/gAH5P3QB Mental well-being is crucial for creating spaces where everyone can thrive—emotionally and professionally. Here are some tips for employers to take actionable steps toward fostering healthier work environments. · Provide Accessible Mental Health Resources Ensure that employees have access to Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), counselling services, or mental health apps for confidential support. · Encourage Regular Breaks Promote short breaks throughout the workday to help employees recharge mentally and physically. · Equip Leaders Train leaders with the skills to recognize and address mental health challenges. Managers could demonstrate positive habits by setting boundaries and prioritizing their well-being a priority · Recognize Achievements Acknowledging employees' hard work boosts morale and contributes to a positive workplace culture. Recognition can be as simple as a shoutout in a meeting or a thank-you note. · Encourage Continuous Feedback Foster a culture of openness by creating systems for regular feedback on mental health initiatives. This helps tailor support to the needs of the team. Together, we can create supportive, balanced, and thriving environments.
