The recent ‘Greenwashing’ amendments to Canada's Competition Act are ambiguous, heavy-handed provisions that may discourage environmental and climate investments by manufacturers. The amendments have created vague new standards underpinned by a reverse onus provision that will create significant new legal, compliance and reputational risks for manufacturers. CME strongly believes the amendments should be repealed and that the government should work with manufacturers to develop a balanced approach to environmental transparency that supports sustainability and growth. That's why CME has summarized the issue in the following slides to help manufacturers tell their story about why it’s getting harder and harder to do business in Canada. Join CME in advocating for a balanced approach. Read our full position and learn why we need change now: https://lnkd.in/g6scCnzQ #Sustainability #Manufacturing #CdnPoli #Greenwashing #CompetitionAct
