Interesting fact: there are half a dozen section in the Marten Hills #Clearwater play, where more than 100 horizontal legs are drilled in each 1 square mile area, with over 200km of open hole crammed within each section and well spacing less than 15 meters between legs. Wells are stacked, drilled in multiple layers in the 25 meter thick sand body. It is the most prolific area of the central Clearwater trend, in the thickest continuous sand, with the highest production in the Clearwater cold flow heavy oil trend. #geosteering #oilandgasservices

It was another thrilling year for ROGII's annual Geosteering World Cup! Bigger and better than ever before, with ~300 international registrants simultaneously "live" drilling two wells to compete for the coveted title of "World's Best Geosteerer". Competition was fierce, and even one minor misstep could spell disaster! It's my pleasure to announce this year's Top Ten Canadian competitors. While there is no official top Canadian title (as the Canadian geosteerers compete as part of the North American region as a whole), there were over 40 Canadians competing this year.
