  • The newly published "The Second World War in East Africa, 1940-1941" includes contributions from Dr. Timothy Stapleton, a professor in the Department of History, and Dr. Quentin Holbert, a History PhD alum who was supervised by Dr. Stapleton. Their work sheds light on this often-overlooked chapter of military history. Also pictured is Abdul-Rahim Mutawakil, an international graduate student from Ghana pursuing an MA in History under Dr. Stapleton’s supervision. His research focuses on soldiers from the Gold Coast (now Ghana) who served in the East Africa campaign – using rare archival materials Quentin uncovered at the UK National Archives, as such records are not available in Ghana. Their work highlights the importance of global collaboration in historical research, ensuring these stories are preserved and shared. Learn more about the book: https://bit.ly/43SqI56
