Today, our incomparable co-operative education program is the reason 70% of incoming undergraduate students choose Waterloo. But our department is more than co-op. At Co-operative and Experiential Education (CEE), we value work-integrated learning and experiential education as much as co-op. Through activities such as lab experiences, internships, and practicum placements we strive to give students at the University of Waterloo the capacity to have the very best impact on their career, and the future of the Canadian and overseas workforce.

Here's how you can address tokenism in the workplace: ✔ Ensure Indigenous team members can provide feedback about their experiences, challenges and the barriers they face. Address concerns seriously and promptly to foster trust. ✔ Do not call on an Indigenous person to speak on behalf of their people. Indigenous Nations differ from one another. ✔ Include an Indigenous perspective or multiple perspectives from the beginning of a project, initiative or event. ✔ Learn whose land you are on and what your obligations and responsibilities are under the agreements and treaties present. ✔ Consider including Indigenous art, symbols or designs in the office space. Taylor explains how she networked with recruiters before applying and how she's continued to network while working at Rocket Innovation Studio. “Everyone was also super comfortable talking to you. For example, I went to a discussion panel about AI and cyber security. The people speaking at the panel were senior directors at the company and I literally just walked up to them and introduced myself. After the event I connected with them on LinkedIn.
