Earlier this month, the 50L Home Coalition announced that the next pilot will be in London and published an action paper that will help inform new ways to retrofit and design homes taking into account the Water-Energy-Carbon nexus. As we plan for implementation, we are especially interested in hearing from builders, developers, water and electric companies, hoteliers, cities, civil society groups, and other innovators. Together, we can reinvent the future of water. 🔗 Watch this insightful video to learn more about the coalition and our plans looking forward: https://lnkd.in/dsnmQCj8 📄 Download the full Action Paper and join us in operationalizing the WEC nexus to build more sustainable homes: https://lnkd.in/e6Ye4Jqz #Water #Energy #Carbon #London #Innovation

50L Home is a global action-oriented platform to addresses water security and climate change in cities globally.
Info
We create bold partnerships between the private sector, public sector, and civil society organisations in order to explore, accelerate, demonstrate and disseminate the relevance, appropriateness and impact of innovations in domestic water and energy use. The 50 Litre Home Coalition (50L Home, the Coalition) is a global, multi-stakeholder action-oriented platform to address two of the most pressing global challenges: water security and climate change. Launched in October 2020, 50L Home works with private sector companies, civil society groups, intergovernmental organisations, local governments, and knowledge leaders to develop, scale and implement innovations for systems level change in domestic urban water management and responsible water usage in the home. The Coalition is convened by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). 50L Home has initially brought together a pioneering group of private sector organisations including Electrolux Group, Grundfos, Holcim, Kohler, L'Occitane, and Procter & Gamble, together with a group of innovators, utilities and city leaders.

📜 New 50L Home Action Paper: A Roadmap to Operationalize the Water-Energy-Carbon Nexus for Homes The water-energy-carbon (WEC) nexus shows us how interconnected water use, energy consumption, and carbon emissions truly are. At 50L Home, we’re addressing these complex issues head-on. Our latest Action Paper, in partnership with Arcadis, provides a practical roadmap for action by focusing on implementation. Through our pilot project in Los Angeles, we: ✅ Gathered real-world data on water and energy use ✅ Retrofitted homes with water- and energy-saving solutions ✅ Engaged consumers to understand the impact of these changes ✅ Analyzed policies to inform scalable improvements The result? We’ve shown how significantly we can reduce both water and energy consumption. But this challenge requires collaboration between policymakers, industries, and communities. Together, we can drive meaningful change. 📄 Download the full Action Paper and join us in operationalizing the WEC nexus to build more sustainable homes: https://lnkd.in/eHGMWTkS 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e6Ye4Jqz #WaterEnergyCarbon #50LHome #Sustainability #GHGReduction #WaterEfficiency #EnergyEfficiency #Arcadis #PublicPrivatePartnerships

🔎 Promising preliminary and partial results on our first ever innovation pilot are out. The Los Angeles pilot, launched a year ago in collaboration with USGBC California, Procter & Gamble, IKEA, Kohler Co., and Electrolux Group, monitored daily water and hot water usage per person in a test group of houses. The test group houses were retrofitted with fixtures and appliances from IKEA, Kohler Co., and Electrolux Group, as well as products from Procter & Gamble, all designed to save water and energy. Meanwhile, a control group of houses did not receive any products, appliances, or fixtures. 🏠 🚰 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟳 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝟭𝟵% 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝟭𝟭% 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗯𝘆 𝟮𝟰% 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽.
