It was no surprise to see last month’s five-vintage masterclass of Château d'Yquem sell out in a matter of hours. Those lucky enough to snag a ticket joined Lorenzo Pasquini, Yquem’s estate manager, in the St. James’s Room to explore recent and older vintages, going back to 1985, along with a bonus pour of Yquem’s dry wine Y. And for those who missed out, fear not – we’re planning many more headline events throughout the year, as we approach our 10-year anniversary. #67pallmall #yquem

As part of our commitment to bringing Members a diverse, ever-evolving events calendar, the London Club hosted an exclusive tasting with South Africa’s Cape Winemakers Guild, showcasing rare and unique wines crafted solely for its annual auction. The Chair of the Guild is winemaker at Lismore Estate Samantha O’Keefe, who took on the role last year. We caught up with Samantha to discuss the Guild’s mission, her vision for the future of South African wine, and the grape varieties making waves in the country right now. An Imperial format of the 2005 Fontodi Flaccianello della Pieve Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT from Chianti Classico, available by the glass in the Members’ Lounge… Our Deputy Head Sommelier Elton describes it as a true expression of Sangiovese. Sourced from a single vineyard and crafted from the estate’s finest grapes, this wine balances power and elegance - a must-try for those who appreciate bold yet refined Tuscan classics. We expect this to be in a short supply, so we recommend popping in sooner rather than later before it sells out.
