Throwback to 1954, when the Gotland 1 HVDC project made history, revolutionizing power transmission. In this photo, Mrs. Pamela Lamm stands proudly in the valve hall, beside the groundbreaking technology her husband, Erik Lamm, helped develop with his team at ABB (then ASEA). This project connected the Swedish mainland to Gotland via an underwater cable, overcoming significant challenges and marking the dawn of commercial HVDC.

Our third AI Accelerator Week took us to India and was a resounding success! 🚀   🏆 600 participants and 200+ use cases submitted at the hackathon 2,100 virtual attendees at our “AI Boost” conference 🤝 Cutting-edge product demonstrations and collaborations with key partners showcasing our innovation leadership 📚 30,000+ learning hours logged in our 2024 Accelerator initiatives so far   The event brought together partners, industry experts, employees, and academia to explore the latest AI advancements in industrial software and their transformative impact on industries.   With our AI and digitally enabled technologies we focus on helping our customers to optimize energy efficiency, processes and assets, and how people work. We support our customers in meeting their circularity commitments with innovative refurbishing solutions that extend the life of products. This was demonstrated when we partnered with Hafslund Celsio, Norway’s largest district heating and waste incineration company, to deliver a sustainable modernization of their waste-to-energy plant at Klemetsrud, Oslo. Our solutions include: ➡️ Retrofitting existing switchgear instead of full replacement, saving time, money, and reducing carbon emissions ➡️ Integration of Emax2 air circuit breakers, enabling smart automation, improved condition monitoring, and energy efficiency By upgrading rather than replacing, over 50% of equipment was re-used, demonstrating a good balance of innovation and sustainability ♻️ Read more about the project here: https://ow.ly/prgQ50Tz57U

And that’s a wrap! After #ClimateWeekNYC, we feel both inspired and full of learnings. Our colleagues represented us well at key events and are working closely with businesses, policy makers, and decision makers to be more ambitious on climate action. We know the technology exists, we now need to scale our existing solutions that can deliver significant contributions to address climate change.
