Wood Mackenzie last week published a paper on "the role of private value chains in boosting polyolefin recycling". It is worth reading and reiterates in some detail our long-held conviction that the industry has to move towards an "infrastructure" mindset. As #plasticrecycling scales in Europe, in anticipation of #PPWR, access to #plasticfeedstock is going to be the constraining factor. This is particularly the case for higher-value end applications and for hard-to-recycle feedstock. The transition that the paper calls out is already happening and a number of proven models exist. We have been advising and partnering with a number of players on building their own value chains with a business unit dedicated to related solutions.
