We are still amazed by yesterday's Rendez-vous Industrie that we had the pleasure of hosting at the TISSOT Arena in Biel/Bienne. The success of this incredible event was thanks to: 👨👩👧👧 Our fantastic guests from the business community of the Biel/Bienne, Seeland, Berner Jura, and Oberaargau regions. 💬 Our outstanding speakers Bruno Edelmann, Mohsen Falahi, and Natalia Röthlisberger, who not only delivered insights and expertise but also brought energy and passion to the stage. 🎤 Our moderator, Dominique Antenen, the most entertaining fast-talker and fast-translator. 🚨 Here are some key takeaways: Bruno Edelmann from MPS Micro Precision Systems AG shared 5 tips on how to make your SME more sustainable: 1. Company leadership must lead by example. 2. Invest in a full-time position to prioritize sustainability within the company. 3. Skip the experts/consultants and start with small initiatives (e.g., turning off machines and lights at night). 4. Engage employees by asking for their input on how they think they can contribute to sustainability. 5. Don’t hesitate to step out of your comfort zone, like biking to work instead of driving. Mohsen Falahi from DAAV showcased how AI-enabled mobility solutions can enhance inclusivity: “For most people, technology makes things easier. But for people with disabilities, technology makes things possible.” – Mary Pat Radabaugh. The best example of this is DAAV's autonomous robotic wheelchair, which offers unmatched maneuverability for its users. Check out this amazing innovation! Natalia Röthlisberger from Arboloom spilled the truth about paper cups and introduced us to a more sustainable alternative: Each year, around 500 billion paper cups are produced, a process that consumes vast amounts of energy and water. A sustainable alternative is arboloom’s innovative cups, which are made with minimal material transformation, a small ecological footprint, and renewable resources. A huge shoutout to the Stadiongastronomie and technician team at the Tissot Arena – we were thoroughly satisfied! #Sustainability #Innovation #MobilitySolutions

Feldschlösschen Getränke AG, a leading beverage company in Switzerland, is renowned for its commitment to sustainability. Each year, Feldschlösschen supplies over 7,000 events across Switzerland with beer and non-alcoholic drinks, constantly seeking innovative solutions to minimize their environmental impact. Despite their extensive efforts to reduce CO2 emissions across their value chain, Feldschlösschen faced a significant challenge: the widespread use of disposable plastic cups at events. These single-use plastics contribute substantially to environmental pollution and waste. In 2023, Feldschlösschen partnered with Arboloom. The collaboration focused on integrating Arboloom’s innovative wooden cups into Feldschlösschen’s event supply chain, particularly where reusable plastic cups are impractical. The collaboration between Feldschlösschen and Arboloom showcases a successful partnership aimed at environmental innovation. By adopting Arboloom’s compostable wooden cups, Feldschlösschen is making significant strides towards a circular future, setting a benchmark for sustainability in the beverage and events industry. We are grateful for this partnership, and look forward to our strong partnership and global scale impact. #sustainability #woodcup #zerowaste #arboloom

Do you offer food and drinks at your event? Here is a list of recommendations for sustainable cultural and sporting events put together by SAUBERE-VERANSTALTUNG.CH, a Swiss leading organization in guiding event planners and organizers in sustainability measures for their events. ► Serve drinks in reusable cups with a deposit. Where safety regulations allow, glasses or porcelain cups can also be used. ► Make sure that all recyclable disposable threads (PET, glass, etc.) are completely recycled. It is recommended to work with deposit chips. ► Hand out food in reusable dishes with a deposit. Where safety regulations allow, traditional porcelain dishes can also be handed in. ► Separate waste/recyclable materials in the audience and backstage areas into PET, cardboard/paper, glass, aluminum, organic waste and residual waste. ► At food stalls without seating or when selling food across the aisle, do not use any kind of plate mat. Instead, use the "pack in the bread" system or give out a maximum of one napkin. ► Avoid disposable products such as (compostable) disposable tableware, aluminum cans, disposable glass bottles, tetra packs, decorations, etc. ► Dispense mustard, mayonnaise and ketchup from a dispenser. Serve drinks that have been filled from large containers into reusable cups or mixed from concentrate (tap system). ► Agree with sponsors that they will refrain from distributing disposable products (free samples and flyers). Do you expect that large amounts of waste will be generated at the event? ► Place enough waste bins in the public area . Make sure that the waste bins are emptied regularly and that cleaning staff are present during the event. Rule of thumb: place waste bins 25 metres apart. ► Collect the waste (audience area and backstage) separately according to PET, cardboard/paper, glass, aluminum cans, organic waste, residual waste, etc. and ensure that the collected materials are disposed of or recycled correctly. Where does the Arboloom cup fit? If you are planning to start using our cups for your event, the wooden cups are placed under the organic waste category due to its biodegradable element. Learn more about our nature shaped cups at www.arboloom.com. #WoodCup #Cleantech #Packaging #Sustainability
