Last week a variety of Belimed team members hosted the annual Customer Advisory Panel meeting and workshop, this year in Chicago Illinois. Our panel of sterile processing industry professionals include educators, directors and managers who dedicate their time in helping us to understand industry trends, contribute to our innovation strategy and discuss future healthcare needs. The panel members are an integral part of our decision making proces and key activities we plan throughout the year. Our Innosuisse project with the Swiss research institute Empa and the team working with Donato Rubinetti between 2020-2023 has yielded some great results! Thanks to the Metall Zug GHG Fund, we have successfully implemented innovative electrohydrodynamic (EHD) airflow technology in this pilot research project. The use of EHD technology will make it possible to replace conventional, motor-driven fans for the drying process. The initial Innosuisse project results are promising: • Up to 50% shorter drying time • Potential energy savings of up to 90% during the drying process While still in the research phase, the next step is testing in a Belimed washer and verifying the process capability.
