The Christie's auction was held in Geneva yesterday, with more than 90 percent of the lots being successfully sold. This impressive outcome defies the backdrop of significant global economic uncertainty and underscores the resilience of the high-end jewelry market. The spotlight of the auction was on the "Blue Royal," a 17.61-carat blue diamond, which sold for CHF 39.505 million (CHF 2.2 million per carat) to a private collector. This sale marked the most expensive jewelry piece sold at any auction in 2023 and ranks among the top 10 highest-priced lots ever sold in the realm of jewelry.
