🚀 Advancing MSME Financing in Uzbekistan: Key Next Steps Unveiled!  We are excited to share a major development in the KfW Financial Sector Program MSME Financing in Uzbekistan! On February 20, 2025, a pivotal joint meeting took place, bringing together key stakeholders—including representatives from 🏛 International Strategic Center for Agri-Food Development (ISCAD), the Ministry of Agriculture, KfW, Business & Finance Consulting and key partner financial institutions (PFIs): АКБ Хамкорбанк , Ipak Yuli Bank and MKBANK (JSCB Microcreditbank).    The meeting, opened by Dr. Andreas Schneider, Director of KfW’s regional office in Central Asia, highlighted the overarching mission of the Program: to strengthen Uzbekistan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, drive job creation and enhance MSME access to finance. With the successful signing of re-loan agreements, the PFIs are now set to unlock EUR 26.8 million in financing to support MSMEs across the country.    📌 Highlights from the Meeting ✅ Discussions on accelerating the disbursement of funds to PFIs and subsequent lending to MSMEs  ✅ Detailed orientation on borrower eligibility, financing procedures and reporting requirements  ✅ A dedicated Q&A session to address PFI queries on fund allocation, program indicators and compliance    🌱Next, PFIs will soon submit their first disbursement requests to KfW and ISCAD and then begin the process of fully on-lending the received funds within the next four months.    BFC is honored to support this important initiative and remains fully committed to ensuring the smooth implementation of the Program over the next 2.5 years. 🚀 Boosting MSME Growth in Uzbekistan: A Major Milestone Achieved! We are thrilled to share a significant achievement within the KfW Financial Sector Program MSME Financing in Uzbekistan! On January 21, 2025, an important milestone was reached as the 🏛 Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan (MoEF), the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) and three 🏦 partner financial institutions (PFIs)— АКБ Хамкорбанк , JSICB Ipak Yuli Bank, and JSCB MKBANK (JSCB Microcreditbank)—signed On-Lending Agreements, paving the way for increased MSME financing across Uzbekistan.   With this milestone achieved, the next phase is set in motion as PFIs prepare to disburse💶 EUR 26.8 million in funds from KfW to support MSMEs. Notably, PFIs will also co-finance the received funds with their own resources, 📈 doubling the available lending volume for MSMEs. Additionally, they will ♻️ reinvest repaid amounts into new MSME financing opportunities throughout the 12-year loan term.   Key Highlights of the Program Financing ✅ 60% of funds dedicated to fixed capital investments for MSMEs ✅ 50% of financing to support businesses outside Tashkent ✅ Accompanying tailored technical assistance from Business & Finance Consulting to enhance PFI performance, efficiency and staff skills   We are honored to support this initiative and look forward to seeing this important effort drive Uzbekistan’s economy forward.   💡 And this is just the beginning!
