🔬 Did you know that only a handful of liquid biopsy-based diagnostic tools have been approved by the FDA, even though scientists started researching them decades ago? A non-invasive method, they have the potential to revolutionise medical diagnostics, but there are still several obstacles to overcome. 🚀 You may have heard about our Vanguard Accelerator programme, but what do you know about the Vanguard jury? The jury meets four times a year, with two carefully selected projects presented each time. Each year, the Vanguard Accelerator supports two to four projects. It's a committee of around thirty experts covering every part of the digital health value chain, including clinicians, nurses, hospitals, IT, regulators, investors, industry representatives, marketing and serial-entrepreneurs. But what do these people actually do? 💬 They offer 360° feedback on the projects submitted. 💡 They act as frontline experts, sharing their expertise in their fields. 🤝 They take on a leading role for projects. Although it's not an official part of the role, some jury members may even join the advisory boards of the companies enrolled in the accelerator, establishing a long-lasting relationship that goes well beyond the duration of the programme. 📆 Interested in applying for the Vanguard Accelerator? 🍂 Happy World Migratory Bird Day! When autumn sets in, we turn our eyes to our biotope, to see whether our seasonal visitors have returned to campus.   The pond is a winter haven for jack snipes – a rare species in Switzerland – and other animals. It's a wonderful spot for some bird-watching, in the upcoming weeks. Why not take a moment to pop down sometime to see who's flown in? 👀   A special thanks to the partners of this wonderful initiative that enabled our urban pond to live and develop over the last few years: Etat de Vaud, Ville de Lausanne et Commune d'Épalinges.

🥁 Have you ever wanted to join an orchestra? That's exactly what we did at our team building this week. We rehearsed a small composition for percussion, taking turns to conduct our Biopôle SA orchestra, before recording our final performance. Check out the pictures 👇 It was a wonderful experience, which taught us a lot about how we interact and the roles we instinctively take in a group. The workshop challenged us to listen to each other afresh, build new trust and bond anew as a team to complete our mission! We're intrigued to see how the session will change the way we communicate and work together every day. Thank you Matthieu Mantanus for sharing your passion for music with us. We really found our rhythm! 👏

Were you at the second FutureHealth Lausanne 2024 last week? What a thought-provoking event it was. We enjoyed the stimulating keynotes and interviews with industry leaders – and of course the chance to network with those at the forefront of healthcare innovation in Switzerland. It was great to connect with so many change makers. 🙏 Thanks to FutureHealth for putting together such an inspiring programme.
