Merging Penso Power into our global energy storage platform 🔋 BW ESS is delighted to announce that we are merging Penso Power Limited into our global platform to unlock the value of utility-scale energy storage globally. Operating as BW ESS, the company will leverage world-class engineering, project delivery, commercial and business development capabilities in a market projected by McKinsey to exceed US$120 billion by 2030. With a team of nearly 30 energy storage specialists, BW ESS will cover all stages of project development, deployment and operation, maintaining a long-term investment perspective as an owner-operator. Already holding operational assets in Sweden and over 1GWh of projects under construction in the UK, Sweden, and Australia, the transaction grows BW ESS’ portfolio with the addition of Penso Power’s UK and Australian pipeline of more than 2GW. Watch progress unfold on our 330MWh Bramley project in Hampshire, UK 🇬🇧🔋   BW ESS visited Bramley with our partners Shell Energy, Penso Power Limited, and Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd., hosted by Ethical Power. It was an opportunity to come together to learn how one of the most advanced long-duration batteries will power the landmark 7-year tolling agreement with Shell 🤝   Expected to be ready in Q4 2024, Bramley’s capacity can meet the average daily power needs of 44,000 UK homes 🏠. Rebecca holds an MSc in Management and Finance from ESCP Business School in Paris and London, and a BSc in Economics and Management from Università Bocconi in Milan. Progress update from our 100MW/330MWh Bramley BESS project in Hampshire, UK 🔋   The Power Titan 2.0 battery containers from Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd. arrived last week and installation is in progress. Unlocking the value of energy storage in the UK 🔋   BW ESS, together with our partner Penso Power Limited, are delighted to announce that we have signed a 7-year fixed-price tolling agreement with Shell Energy Europe for our 100MW / 330MWh Bramley project in Hampshire. This long-term deal is one of the first such agreements in the UK market, and helps to create a template for a new revenue structure that will open up energy storage market opportunities across Europe. For Bramley - one of the most sophisticated long-duration BESS assets in construction in the UK - it will secure stable long-term revenues, and an important role in the UK’s emerging load shifting and grid balancing market. BW ESS is delighted to welcome Marc Weisser as our Chief Financial Officer!   Based in Zürich, Marc will be responsible for overseeing, refining, and managing the financing strategy for the company and its energy storage projects worldwide.   Prior to joining BW ESS, Marc was an Executive Director at UBS, where he advised entrepreneurs and global family offices on Corporate Finance with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising activities across various sectors, including renewable energy and energy transition.   Before that, Marc was an Investment Banker at Lazard, Morgan Stanley and Scotiabank in London, focused on M&A, strategic advisory and capital market transactions across the energy, oil and gas sectors, for publicly listed companies, governments, private equity and privately held businesses.   Marc holds an M.Sc. in Industrial and Financial Economics from the University of Gothenburg and a Diplom-Kaufmann degree in International Business from the Paderborn University.   Please join us in warmly welcoming Marc to BW ESS!
