October’s Top Case: A 59-year-old with CRC initially considered a palliative patient had a good response to chemotherapy and the tumor board decided with CAS-One IR it was possible to treat the liver metastases. IRE was performed for the central lesion, and MWA for the remaining lesions, done in the same session. Both MRI fusion and ablation confirmation with AblaSure were utilized, helping the case to be successful. Thanks to Dr Marie Beermann and the team at Danderyds Sjukhus AB for performing this case. CAS-One IR co-hosted an event with our friends from Medtronic at the famous Orsi Academy in Belgium last week. 12 participants, both surgeons and IRs came to hear about MWA with Emprint, and AI-driven planning, navigation, and ablation confirmation with CAS-One IR. Dr. Fadi Tannouri from Hôpital Universitaire de Bruxelles (H.U.B) - Academisch Ziekenhuis Brussel (H.U.B) de Bruxelles spoke about his positive experience with Emprint MWA, and Prof. Thiery Chapelle from UZA highlighted the results he has produced from nearly 300 patients treated in his hospital with CAS-One IR. Publication of the very low recurrence rates, and positive economic impact are under way. The participants also spent two hours on the hands-on session after the lectures. JFR once again welcomed 13,000 visitors from France and other French speaking parts of the world over last weekend, and CAS-One IR was there for the 3rd year in a row. Thanks to our French Team of Philippe Mathieu and Mélissa Golin, who held many in-depth conversations about CAS-One IR at our booth. Whether it was a first hands-on demonstration, or a debate regarding the value of artificial intelligence in ablation procedures. Welcome to Quality Ablation Klinikum Würzburg Mitte gGmbH! The Head of the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, Prof. Michael Haimerl, and senior physician Dr. Lukas Luerken were introduced to Quality Ablation years ago at the University Hospital of Regensburg, and when they moved to another hospital, it was important for them to take CAS-One IR with them. Thanks to the efforts of the entire team at Klinikum Würzburg Mitte, this vision became a reality and they started treating patients last month. Exciting news! CAS-One IR is making strides in the US. CAS-One IR has been investigated in a study conducted at MD Anderson, the #1 cancer hospital in the US. This study investigated various clinical and technical endpoints in a cohort of 84 patients. Its results have been presented at CIRSE. Check out our insights on this study—link in the comments! Dr. Ruben Lopez Benitez was one of the first CAS-One IR users back in 2012 when the device only had basic navigation functionalities. Since then he has done over 100 ablations with CAS-One IR. After his departure from Luzerner Kantonsspital he joined the team in Solothurner Spitäler AG - soH and the other week performed his first CAS-One IR case there – successfully sustaining Quality Ablation there. September’s Top Case: A 41-year old with a liver met surrounded by vessels was treated with MWA and CAS-One IR. Using AblaSure, it was clear margins were insufficient, so a decision was made to immediately reablate. Thanks to Dr. Ghizlane Touimi Benjelloun from CHU de Nimes and the entire team there.
