Who doesn’t love when sports help raise awareness and give back to important causes? For #GlobalImpactMonth, our Hoechst site hosted a soccer tournament for Celanese employees as well as local partners. All proceeds were donated to the Bärenherz Children's Hospice Center in Wiesbaden and the Germania Gustavsburg youth department. Additionally, Celanese collected soccer balls from participants and gifted them to local schools and sports centers. In Cangrejera, employees organized a volleyball tournament and those who participated brought canned goods and pet food as their buy-in to play. All items were donated to El Perpetuo Socorro and Patitas, which provides a safe place for homeless pets. #CelaneseCares #ChemistryOfUs

There are many ways Celanese employees are giving back to the communities where we live and work throughout #GlobalImpactMonth. While our Singapore site organized and participated in a beach clean-up activity, employees in Shenzhen hosted a bazaar to collect charity items and raise funds for an array of local nonprofits. #CelaneseCares #ChemistryOfUs

Yesterday was all about breaking records at the 16th Annual Celanese Foundation Invitational supporting United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. Not only did we have the highest number of golfers participate in the tournament to date, but also raised a historic $1.6 million that will go directly to United Way’s community impact work. Through the power of unity and equity, this incredible nonprofit is mobilizing a movement to ensure our neighbors across North Texas have access to education, income and health – the building blocks of opportunity. The American Heart Association’s Heart Walk has become an important event our Wilmington site champions in memory of an employee’s spouse. This year, the Celanese team, dubbed Miles for Michael, consisted of 65 walkers and raised over $17,000 toward lifesaving science. The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premier event for raising funds to save lives from the United States’ number one cause of death – heart disease. This week, our Clear Lake Women's Impact Network ERG spent a day at The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Inc. planting flower beds for their housing unit and doing #STEM experiments with the kids in daycare and after school programs; members of the Forli Young Professionals ERG participated in a marathon to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s disease research; and Budapest employees helped make over 300 meals for the Budapest Bike Maffia to distribute to the homeless. #CelaneseCares #ChemistryOfUs

We’re somehow already halfway through #GlobalImpactMonth but our teams aren’t slowing down! Hyderabad employees had the opportunity to prepare meals at The Akshaya Patra Foundation's centralized community kitchen, where over 30,000 meals are made daily for government schools in and around the city.
