Info
CERN is a truly unique organisation. A genuine collaboration between countries, universities, and scientists, driven not by profit margins, but by a commitment to create and share knowledge. People here are part of immense scientific discoveries, answering some of life’s most complex questions and pushing the boundaries of understanding. Experts from every field come here to share in this ambition and the nature of this collaborative, international community creates a genuine atmosphere of trust. People are free to work creatively and to trust in, and rely on, their colleagues across the organisation. History’s being made here – and the excitement is tangible, inspiring, and overwhelming at times. It is the only place in the world where you can do this work in this way. --- If you’ve worked at CERN in the past, why not join the official CERN LinkedIn Alumni group, linked from this page.

Quantum Applications Through CERN Quantum Technology Initiative CERN aims to find mutual benefits to enhance the collaboration between the high-energy physics (#HEP) and the quantum technology communities. Quantum technologies from industry can benefit the Laboratory’s research in fundamental physics while CERN scientists can establish new competencies that can then be transferred to industry to lead future innovations and foster co-development partnerships within the field of quantum technologies. 🌟 Unveiling CERN’s knowledge transfer 2023 highlights 🌟 ⚛️ Spotlight on Quantum Quantum technologies are set to revolutionise our world by applying the seemingly mysterious laws of physics at the smallest scale to real-world applications. Last year, CERN became a member of the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC). This membership is a great opportunity to build links with key players - universities, government labs and companies - within the quantum supply chain, help shape the European community and establish co-development opportunities with industry. 2023 has also seen the launch of the CERN Quantum Technology Initiative (CERN QTI)'s Phase 2 which included a major focus on co-development with industry and academia. 🚀 Unveiling CERN’s knowledge transfer 2023 highlights - Spotlight on Aerospace 🚀 Space exploration and particle physics research share common challenges which often result in similar solutions and collaborations. Discover CERNs’’#innovationpartnerships in aerospace as we reveal our "Accelerating Innovation Through Partnerships" report: ☢️ Before embarking on its interplanetary journey, European Space Agency - ESA’s Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (Juice)’s critical components were tested at CERN, in the only facility on Earth capable of replicating Jupiter’s harsh #radiative environment. 🔭 The EUCLID #spacetelescope uses a software developed at CERN to handle the 850 Gbit of daily data it receives which allowed the release of the first full-colour images of the cosmos. 🌌 HEARTS, a new #HorizonEurope project coordinated by CERN, will open CERN radiation testing facilities to accommodate the needs of new space users.
