The CIFAL Global Network is composed of 31 International Training Centres for Authorities and Leaders, all coordinated by United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)’s Social Development Programme.     The strategic locations of the 31 centres, which can be found across Asia, Oceania, Africa, Europe, the Americas, and the Caribbean ensure a global outreach.     Each CIFAL centre provides innovative training and serves as a hub for the exchange of knowledge amongst government officials, the private sector, and civil society.     #CIFALGlobalNetwork #CGN #UNITAR #Training

Congratulations to the senior leaders and administrators of the University of the Philippines, Los Baños, for completing the CIFAL Victoria course on "Developing a Sustainability Mindset: Integrating the UN SDGs".  📚 Delivered by Heather Ranson and CIFAL Victoria Director, Ms Crystal Tremblay, this course provided a comprehensive overview of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and explored strategies and hands-on applications for integrating the Goals into research, teaching, campus operations and community partnerships.   🔄 Through interactive discussions, tools, case studies, and key readings, leaders gained the knowledge and skills needed to implement the SDGs throughout the University campus and beyond.  #SustainabilityMindset #IntegratingSDGs #CIFALVictoria #SeniorLeaders #UniversityPhilippines #CGN

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Flanders recently held its Sustainable Entrepreneurship Day 2024, to advance the integration of sustainability in business practices.    🤝 This event brought together nearly 350 participants at Technopolis in Mechelen. As part of the PCA2030 Trajectory, UNITAR | CIFAL Flanders awarded 91 organisations as SDG leaders, with 76 named as SDG Pioneers, 9 as SDG Champions, and 6 as SDG Ambassadors. On the opening day of the COP29 UN Climate Change Conference in Azerbaijan, UNITAR hosted the event, “The Role of Higher Education in Addressing Climate Change: Leadership, Innovation, and Impact,” in collaboration with CIFAL Istanbul, CIFAL City of London, and Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi.   🌍 As climate change continues to present unprecedented global challenges, the role of higher education institutions (HEIs) has become ever more crucial in shaping future leaders, fostering innovation, and advancing sustainability.  🌱 The event brought together experts to explore how HEIs could advance climate action through research, policy discussions, and training the next generation of leaders in sustainability and environmental stewardship.
