Important comments from the #G7Italy meeting on #alzheimers and #dementia from former #italy Minister of Health Beatrice Lorenzin regarding #EMA review of #amyloid treatments, Eisai EMEA Biogen lecanamab and Eli Lilly and Company donanamab. If #EMA follows the recommendation from CHMP and doesn't approve these #breakthrough #medicines, European Union countries will not have access to innovative treatments for a fatal disease unlike #china, #US, #UK and the many other countries that do. Thank you to Aon and Madeleine Catzaras for hosting an important conversation during United Nations #climate week and inviting Drew Holzapfel. This topic is new to us. We learned that many are deeply invested in the physical health such as Turner Construction Company, led by Monika Serrano. But what struck us is that they are just starting to think about how to measure and protect the #brainhealth.

We couldn’t agree more with Professor Rocco Bellantone. #DAC is committed to accelerating this much-needed paradigm shift. Governments must prioritize collaboration, investment, and policy action to rapidly scale new solutions and build strong, integrated healthcare systems capable of delivering the latest #brainhealth innovations. A big thank you to our incredible panelists for sharing their insights during the "Strategies to Support Brain Health and Cognitive Function Starting in Midlife" session at the Brain Health event during the Science Summit at the 79th United Nations General Assembly. Our diverse panelists, including HRH Dr. Haya Al Saud, Evelyn Gitau, Chris Lynch, Vaibhav Narayan, and moderated by George Vradenburg, brought expertise across various industries, all united by the shared goal of promoting brain health earlier in life. Key takeaways included the need for more diverse brain health data across populations, the integration of biomarkers into research, and the importance of cross-industry collaboration to drive real impact. We’re proud to be working with the European Brain Council , Brain Capital Alliance, and UNICEF on a two-day side event at the UNGA Science Summit, focused on advancing global brain health partnerships. With neurological conditions now the leading cause of disability worldwide, investing in brain health research and innovation is critical for improving productivity, enhancing social cohesion, and building a healthier future for all.

Tomorrow is World Alzheimer's Day, a global effort to raise awareness and challenge the stigma surrounding #Alzheimers disease and #ADRD. We at DAC are proud to contribute to this cause through our work with international organizations, governments, and the private sector to accelerate innovation and deliver solutions around the globe. So far this year, DAC and our collaborators across the world have continued to drive progress in critical areas, including developing global cohorts to diversify the populations we can reach with targeted treatments and preparing healthcare systems to deliver Alzheimer’s care and speed innovations to those who need them most. Davos Alzheimer's Collaborative hat dies direkt geteilt
I'm feeling energized after returning from the Nature Conference 'The Future of Dementia in Africa: Advancing Global Partnerships' (https://lnkd.in/e5GqJf9s), focusing on research in Africa by African researchers. This was the first Nature Conference on the continent and hopefully not the last. Providing visibility to research and public health challenges in LMIC is an important endeavor and I'm very proud to have contributed to moving the needle in this space. Huge thanks to my fantastic colleagues at Nature Aging, Nature Medicine, Nature Communications and Communications Medicine, our local partners at Aga Khan University in Nairobi Kenya, and of course, our sponsor, The Davos Alzheimer Collaborative (DAC). Isn't it cool that the event was featured in a news segment on Kenya Television Network! https://lnkd.in/eaUCTTcv
