📢 Consultancy Opportunity: NHRI.EU3 Project Logframe Review. We are seeking an experienced consultant to review and, where necessary, enhance the NHRI.EU3 Project Logframe. The objective is to ensure the logframe accurately reflects the envisaged results, consolidates and refines indicators, and aligns with frameworks such as the Global Europe Results Framework (GERF) and GAPIII. This work will support improved project monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. 📢 Yesterday marked the launch of our #TorturePrevention webinar series with Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT). Honored to welcome expert speakers of #NHRIs from #Australia, #CostaRica #Georgia, #SouthAfrica and the Vice-Chairperson for Visits of the Subcommittee on Prevention of #Torture. 🤝 With 60+ NHRIs from across the globe joining us, the inaugural webinar addressed a strategic priority of the Kyiv Copenhagen Declaration: Strengthening #NHRIs and NPMs cooperation for effective torture prevention and cross-sectoral collaboration with other sectors. 👉 The series provides a platform for #NHRIs to meet with peers, share experiences and good practices, and facilitate engagement with UN bodies and mechanisms. Human rights defenders are key partners in helping States meet the Sustainable Development Goals, including by assessing progress made. In #Kenya, defenders use monitoring tools to ensure the country doesn't fall behind on its commitments. . 📢 On this #InternationalDayOfOlderPersons, we highlight how #NHRIs can strengthen the protection of #OlderPersons' rights, based on best practices reported by NHRIs worldwide and from consultations with GANHRI (Global Alliance Of National Human Rights Institutions) Working Group on Ageing: 1️⃣ Increasing visibility of #HumanRights violations through better data collection. 2️⃣ Raising awareness of ageism and intersectional discrimination against older persons. 3️⃣ Ensuring inclusion of older persons' concerns in policy and decision-making processes. 4️⃣ Incorporating older persons' rights in human rights reporting. 5️⃣ Advocating for a legally binding instrument for their protection.

It was great to join Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions 29th Annual General Meeting and hear from #NHRIs and partners from the region on efforts, best practices, challenges, and future plans in promoting and protecting #HumanRights.
