Wine authentication - necessary or not? The topic of wine authentication regularly resurfaces. Just this year, a wine producer in Switzerland was convicted of selling counterfeit wine for years. In the following article on Jane Anson's website, Allan Liska explores the question of how plausible is the 20% of “non-original wine” on a global scale that is repeatedly quoted. That would be more than 1 in 6 bottles. https://lnkd.in/diht6wVv Who would want to authenticate a wine? E.g. a collector before buying an expensive wine, a consumer for health reasons, a buyer to actually procure the medal-winning wine or the heirs of a large wine cellar. Whatever your view on the subject, in June 2024 we launched the wine authentication method winePROOF as a world premiere on the market. At the WB 110 auction, collector's wines authenticated with winePROOF achieved prices at the top end of the estimate range. Successful launch of GA winePROOF for wine authentication At the end of June, the world of wine experienced a remarkable premiere: six premium wines certified as genuine using the innovative GA winePROOF method were successfully auctioned off at the WB 110 auction of the renowned 'Weinbörse'. All of them achieved a hammer price at the upper end of the estimated price.
