Glad to speak at the 2024 #GEO Symposium and Open Data & Open Knowledge (#ODOK) Workshop and contribute to discussions on the implementation plan for the Group on Earth Observations (GEO)’s Post-2025 Vision of "Earth Intelligence for All." This event will take place in #Hangzhou, #China, from 23-26 September. I am humbled by the invitation to share my #AI #Governance perspective. I believe AI should be harnessed to solve real-world problems, which involves incentivizing businesses and empowering regional and local governments, as well as communities, to make informed, science-based decisions. Many questions arise where science alone cannot provide answers. In these cases, AI should be developed and trained to assist in making value judgments, helping prioritize and balance competing interests within society. I will join the discussions on the impact of AI within GEO’s Global Work Programme https://lnkd.in/e74em7qz and engage in discussions around #GEOCRI and #HiMAC.
