AMERICA'S CUP // "Another company developing America’s Cup foil engineering for the commercial sector is Artemis Technologies Ltd, a Belfast-based maritime design and engineering company spun out of Artemis Racing, the Swedish challenger in the 2017 America’s Cup regatta and one of the teams in this year’s new women’s event. The company’s CEO and founder is Iain Percy, himself a double Olympic sailing champion for Great Britain and a former America’s Cup tactician. His company has developed a fleet of fully electric foiling workboats, including pilot boats and a passenger ferry. APPEC // Gunvor has been well represented alongside our industry peers this week at #APPEC (Asia Pacific Petroleum Conference) in #Singapore. Numerous colleagues participated in related events, both at the conference and around the city. And Torbjörn, Gunvor's Chairman, also joined a panel discussion on the future of oil prices with Jeff Currie, chief strategy officer of Carlyle Group’s Energy Pathways.   As would be obvious, the main driver of discussion at APPEC was how oil prices have been lately under pressure—mostly due to concerns about slowing demand in #China and the U.S., despite expectations from earlier in the year that summer demand would be supportive.   “The problem is not in OPEC, because they've done a great job to manage this,” Torbjörn said on stage. “The problem is that they don't control where the growth is right now outside #OPEC, and that's substantial.... Today, we are producing much more oil than we are consuming, and that balance is seen to worsen over the next years.”

In den ersten 3 Tage der Sommerferien durften wir 6 Schüler aus verschiedenen Schulen zum Praktikum bei uns begrüßen! Die Praktikanten konnten sich einen Einblick in Raffinerie-Technik, die Ausbildung als Chemikant:in sowie die spätere Tätigkeit als Anlagenfahrer:in verschaffen. Auf dem Programm standen wieder viele interessante Punkte, wie beispielsweise: 🔹 Kurzvorstellung der Produktionsprozesse 🔹 Begehungen der Produktions- sowie Verlade-Anlagen 🔹 Vorstellung unserer Werkfeuerwehr 🔹 Praktische Übung am Rohrrahmen 🔹 Virtuelle Gasprobenahmen 🔹 Virtueller Anlagenrundgang, bei dem sicherheitskritische Mängel aufgedeckt werden mussten Am Ende des Praktikums konnten die Teilnehmer das erlernte Wissen in einem spannenden Raffinerie-Quiz unter Beweis stellen. #wearegunvor #praktikum #ausbildung #chemikant #ingolstadt

NEW INVESTMENT // Gunvor has made a significant investment in the retail and distribution space by signing an agreement to purchase TotalEnergies’ 50% stake in Total PARCO Pakistan Limited (TPPL). TPPL is a 50/50 joint venture between TotalEnergies Marketing and Services and PARCO - Pak-Arab Refinery Limited in Pakistan with a retail network of more than 800 service stations, fuel logistics, and lubricants activities. The new entity will continue its retail business under the existing “Total Parco” brand, and its lubricants business under the “Total” brand in Pakistan, continuing to serve its customers.
