Holcim's flagship Swiss recycling center, Recycling Center Ostschweiz (RCO) helps us build new from old. 🗽 As cities grow we need to build the equivalent of New York each month. 🏢 At Holcim we're on track to recycle 10 million tons of construction demolition materials (CDM) each year, saving primary materials. ♻ RCO uses the latest technology to recycle enough material to build 500 single-family houses each year. Elevate’s new manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City is taking the LEED as the brand expands in the Western U.S. and Canada. The European Patent Office in Vienna, Austria is being renovated using Holcim's sustainable building solutions from foundation to rooftop! Our ECOPact low-carbon concrete with ECOCycle® inside was used throughout. Elevate roofing was also chosen to maximize the building’s energy efficiency. Once completed, the European Patent Office will achieve BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ certification as a sustainable building. 🏢 Retrofitting an existing building reduces the environmental impact of construction. 🏡 Raising the roof! Holcim Building Envelope is expanding in residential roofing by building a new Malarkey Roofing Products plant in Franklin, Indiana that will start production in mid-2026. 👩🏭 The 300,000 square-foot shingles manufacturing facility and warehouse will create around 200 jobs and improve access and delivery times for customers in the Midwest and Northeast U.S. regions. 💬 “Our Malarkey facility in Indiana demonstrates Holcim Building Envelope’s dedication to providing our customers with innovative and sustainable solutions for the building envelope.” Jamie Gentoso, President of Holcim Building Envelope and Global Head of Holcim Solutions & Products. 💡 How can we build better with less using carbon prestressed concrete?   Carbon prestressed concrete, or CPC, is high-strength concrete reinforced with prestressed carbon fibers.   Holcim uses a patented technology to create thin, precast concrete plates that have the potential to change the game for low-carbon, circular construction.   CPC offers material savings of up to 75% and reduces CO2 emissions by two to three times.   Our CPC panels were used to build the Grüze Innovation Laboratory – one of the world's first CPC buildings.   The building is modular, meaning it can be modified and expanded in the coming years.
