🌟At the Geneva Human Rights Platform 2024 Annual Conference, Workshop 4 explored how digital tools can link human rights monitoring with SDG progress through greater collaboration and interoperability among stakeholders. ➡️Here, Yolanda Booyzen presented Uwazi, HURIDOCS' open-source tool for documenting human rights information. ✨Our Annual Conference is proceeding in full force!✨ After the keynote speech by Prof. Philip Alston and the academic plenary panel, speakers and attendees split up in parallel workshops on 🏙️ Human Rights in the Age of Digital Innovation: Regulating Al and Technology in Smart Cities 🏥Human Rights in Global Health Policies 🍃Human Rights in Preventing Environmental Triggers to Conflict 💻Human Rights and Sustainable Development: Advancing Monitoring and Collaboration through Digital Tools The concluding panel of the conference, starting at 13:30, will include representatives from key UN institutions reflecting on connectivity between human rights and their policy fields. 🇺🇳

💡On 4 November 2024, the Geneva Human Rights Platform in collaboration with HURIDOCS and the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, co-hosted the Third Expert Roundtable on Human Rights Tracking Tools and Databases in Geneva. 💻The event brought together various stakeholders to chart a way forward to collectively address fundamental questions related to the use of new technologies in the service of making human rights information more accessible, usable, shareable, reliable and impactful. ✨HURIDOCS’ Yolanda Booyzen and Benedict Olgado provided insights from the civil society perspective on how interoperability between digital tools can be achieved through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
