🌍 Looking Back at Our Idea Development Workshop! What an inspiring day of collaboration! Our Idea Development Workshop was all about refining actionable CDR ideas 🚀 💡Here are some highlights: 💼 Value Creation Beyond Taxes · While a carbon tax is important to make CDR solutions financially viable, creating value for CO₂ is crucial to avoid relying solely on government policies. 🌐 Decentralized CO₂ Production & Missing Value Chains · We acknowledged the fragmented nature of CO₂ sources—small-scale, decentralized, and lacking robust value chains to connect them. ❓ Business Case Realities · “We know it’s a problem, but what’s the business case?”—a recurring theme emphasizing the need for market-driven and economically feasible solutions. From alternative greenhouse heating using pyrolysis to strategies for scaling up CO₂ usage, the workshop shed light on both challenges and opportunities in the CDR space 🌱 Missed this workshop? 👉 Be sure to meet us at the Sustainable Innovation Challenge at EPFL, 13 & 14 March, to continue the conversation, network with innovators, and discover next-level ideas in sustainability (find out more here: https://epfl-sic.ch/). A huge thank you to everyone who participated. We can’t wait to see how these ideas evolve! sus.lab | ETH, remove, University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, Stiftung Risiko-Dialog, Swiss Carbon Removal Platform, Empa, Impact Hub Zürich #cdr #carbonremovalbooster #Sustainability #Innovation #swissinnovationbooster powered by Innosuisse.

🌍 Go big or go home! 🌱 This week, we had the opportunity to host our very first Challenge Exploration Roundtable in French-speaking Switzerland, and what a success it was! 🚀 It was great to see that carbon removal innovation is thriving beyond the Zurich hub - with participants from Geneva, Fribourg, Sion, and even some bold pioneers from Zurich crossing the “Röstigraben” to join the discussions. The mix of industry stakeholders, innovators, and both young and established researchers made for a dynamic and insightful exchange. 💡 Some of the big questions that emerged: 🔋 Direct Air Capture and its high energy demand - how can we make it more efficient and scalable? 🔗 The complexity of the CDR value chain - how do we effectively communicate and collaborate across sectors? 🌍 Even if we capture tons of CO₂ - what do we do with it then? How and where do we ensure long-term storage? The discussions highlighted the urgent need for cross-sector collaboration, clearer value chain alignment, and innovative solutions to scale CDR effectively. Missed this one? Join us at our next events! 👉 Next Idea Development Workshop – Zurich, 6 March: https://lnkd.in/emVPziJf ⚠️ Reminder: To be eligible for the Booster Program, at least one team member must attend one of our workshops! 👉 Meet us at the Sustainable Innovation Challenge (SIC) at EPFL, 13 - 14 March: https://epfl-sic.ch A huge thank you to all participants for your engagement, insights, and for proving that the CDR ecosystem is growing stronger across Switzerland! sus.lab | ETH remove University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW Stiftung Risiko-Dialog Swiss Carbon Removal Platform Empa Impact Hub Zürich #cdr #carbonremovalbooster #Sustainability #Innovation #swissinnovationbooster powered by Innosuisse
