🌍 Recap of the Challenge Exploration Roundtable 🌍 We had the pleasure of hosting over 20 actors from industry, academia, and policy to discuss the pressing challenges in the Swiss CDR ecosystem. Our key take-aways are: 1️⃣ Collaboration Across Disciplines: Tackling the complex challenges of CDR requires a multi-disciplinary approach. Participants emphasized the importance of gathering diverse perspectives from various sectors to address correlations and trade-offs that exist in the CDR landscape. 2️⃣ Regulation and Transparency: There was a strong consensus on the need for stricter regulations to push emitters towards early action in reducing emissions and adopting CDR. More transparency is essential, particularly around the quality of credits, accountability, and avoiding risks of double counting. 3️⃣ Scaling CDR Solutions: Whether it’s BECCS, biochar, CDR in construction materials, or other methods, the call for more research, pilot projects, and governmental support was clear.
