As the global #poultry meat sector navigates the continuously evolving avian influenza situation, it is clear that science based approaches and interventions will determine our chances of success in controlling the disease and minimizing its adverse impact on food security. Interventions that lead with biosecurity, and potential tools as vaccination, supported by surveillance, have to work in the context of a broad and solid global framework, shielding our animals, protecting public health and allowing trade of our products to fulfil their key role in achieving global food security. IPC proactively engages in relevant discussions, such as that of IABS - International Alliance for Biological Standardization to pursue those goals. 🐓🦃🦆
