Our Morocco colleagues recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for JTI’s first Green Factory in Northern & Western Africa, which will employ 170 people. Based in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, the new state-of-the-art facility will integrate innovative technologies and cover up to 40% of its energy needs through solar power, with the ambition to reach carbon neutrality by 2030. This initiative not only reflects our commitment to JT Group’s sustainability targets, but also Morocco’s strategic position as a regional hub for our operations. Construction works are expected to begin in August. Read more: https://brnw.ch/21wLufC #sustainability #supplychain

Innovation is a big part of our culture at JTI, and generative AI is something that we are exploring to tackle real business challenges. At our recent Corporate Affairs & Communications Hackathon, our colleagues came together to generate hundreds of ideas just in one day. Some of these ideas were then pitched to a panel of judges, also known as “sharks,” who challenged and awarded the Best Idea. We are excited for this winning proposal to come to life! 💡 #GenerativeAI #hackathon #Innovation Ramunas Macius Carles Ureña Maries Vega Zaida Amezcua Adrian Clarke Kirk Havelock

Happy Friday! With many locations around the world, we love it when our colleagues share their local flavors like Ancel did here😊 Thanks for sharing your experience with local food cultures from different countries where you have worked at JTI. #localculture #happyfriday #lifeatjti
Happy Friday, What will you be doing for Lunch today? At some point during your day, you'll need to have a lunch break. I've been lucky enough to have "lunch" in a few different parts of the world. At JTI Dubai we used to visit the closest restaurant or dinery for the occasional team lunch. In JTI Bangladesh, a restaurant or the occasionally home cooked meal of mutton, chicken, rice or rotti delivered to the regional depot. JTI Tanzania we'd have lunch from the factory delivered to the admin office. What makes JTI South Africa different? In some parts of the world, it is called a barbeque but, to South Africans, barbeque is a sauce we use to add flavor to our meat. In SA we refer to the preparation of the meal as a braai, “pr. (br-eye)”. This is what makes South Africa unique, sometimes, during work hours, we braai as a lunch option. This is just one of the things that makes working at JTI unique, it’s our culture. Click on “like” or “share” if you’ve experienced this South Africa culture or let me know what your lunch experience is in the comment section below ……… #LifeAtJTI

The ‘Yaku’ project in Bolivia is a recent addition to JTI’s global WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) initiative. It aims to provide access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene for one million people by the end of 2025. After just one year, Yaku can already report tremendous success: more than 40,000 people in vulnerable peripheral neighborhoods of La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz are benefitting from impactful and sustainable solutions, ensuring their human right to water and sanitation. In La Paz, 27 rainwater harvesting systems were completed and in Santa Cruz more than 100 handwashing stations have been provided, as well as 30 toilets for the “Alba Tapera” Warnes indigenous community. These were installed by women plumbers who have been educated and trained as part of the Yaku project. Finally, outside Cochabamba, a new 1-kilometer-long pipe network now supplies 10 freshwater tanks and benefits over ten thousand dwellers. JTI’s global WASH initiative is well on track to reach its ambitious goal – Read more: https://lnkd.in/eHCsMmKq
