Global & Local: Our Environment, Community, and Customers... How is our company prioritising and taking care of the planet, and giving back and contributing to the community? And how is our company having a positive impact on our customers’ lives? Here’s a few key examples... Environment: Our Group climate strategy is aligned with the Net-Zero Standard and has validated science-based targets (Science Based Targets initiative) with the ambition of limiting the global temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. On a local level, our factories in France are reducing waste, reducing water and energy consumption with a long-standing environmental management system (EMS). Our factory and warehouse in Brazil also uses solar panels and electric truck deliveries. Community: In 2019, L’OCCITANE Group implemented a global sustainable procurement programme named #NotJustSuppliers. It aims to manage CSR risks within its supply chain and its suppliers’ sustainability performance at scale. Locally, and aligned with the Group’s priorities, heritage, core values and communities, each brand has built its own philanthropic commitments. Our brands’ philanthropic actions can be based on financial support, in-kind donations, volunteering, or a combination of all three. Customers: For all our customers on both a global and local scale, our factories in France ensure quality process and certifications, compliance with international standards and industry bodies, alongside a centralised complaint resolution service and external audits certified by the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) – ensuring rigorous quality and safety controls for all of our products.  #LOCCITANEGroup #BCorp #environment #customercare #community

We are proud to share this interview: Discovering L’OCCITANE’s ‘science of holistic flourishing’ with the General Manager for Research & Development Marie Videau https://lnkd.in/er75yRPa

Brands Director at The Moodie Davitt Report

“Everything from our offer to our experiences and products must deliver meaningful performance”. So says L’OCCITANE Group General Manager for Research and Development Marie Videau as she describes the company’s holistic approach to delivering wellbeing for people and planet. “Why meaningful? Because everything that we do must make sense and integrate all three dimensions of our holistic wellbeing approach,” she adds. I had the pleasure of going to Provence and visiting L'OCCITANE's Research & Development facility in Manosque, where I had the chance to chat with Videau about the company’s ‘science of holistic flourishing’ mantra and how it is delivering meaningful performance through a compelling combination of products, services and experiences. In our interview on The Moodie Davitt Report, she previews L’OCCITANE Group’s innovation pipeline and its ongoing sustainability initiatives, following its B Corp accreditation last year. Videau also introduces L’OCCITANE en Provence’s latest hair and scalp care innovations, which, having suffered from hair loss issues herself, she describes as her biggest scientific achievements. Supporting communities after a natural disaster... At 11pm on September 8th, 2023, Morocco was struck by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake. Millions of people were affected, with widespread destruction to livelihoods, homes, and vital public services.  The L’OCCITANE Foundation, in collaboration with non-profit organisation ACTED, provided direct assistance in the villages most severely affected by the earthquake, by supplying both water aid and essential goods. Our financial contribution came in just over €56,000, and we were able to support around 7,400 people who needed help.  Certainly, an achievement we can all be proud of.  #MoroccoEarthquake #LOCCITANEFoundation #LOCCITANEGroup #BCorp

Global & Local: Our Governance and Employees... When it comes to governance, how do we make sure our company considers all stakeholders? And how well are we taking care of our employees? Here are few key global and local examples from across the entire L’OCCITANE Group...  Governance: Social and environmental sustainability objectives have been integrated into staff bonus schemes worldwide, to ensure sustainability is part of decision-making on a daily basis – and to ensure continuous progress in all business units.  Locally, in the Asia–Pacific region, sustainability objectives and incentives have been integrated into all staff performance objectives.  Workers: Since 2012, the Group has taken part in the Great Place to Work (GPTW) barometer, which identifies a company’s strengths in terms of well-being in the workplace, while highlighting areas for improvement. In 2022, the campaign was expanded to 26 countries, and the Group achieved an overall Trust Index score of 68%. We’re now committed to reaching a score of 70%.  More locally, an employee support hotline has been set up across Japan, Europe, and the Asia–Pacific regions to support employee well-being and support mental health.  And initiatives have been put in place in the UK to empower women and families, such as menopause support, including referrals to occupational health for expert advice, and paid time off for employees undergoing fertility treatment and in case of pregnancy loss, including resources for concerned line managers.  #LOCCITANEGroup #BCorp #governance #employeewellbeing

Why are we a certified B Corp™? If you’ve ever wondered what qualified L’OCCITANE Group for B Corp status, then please read on... Workers: All employees have access to local benefits programmes that support mental and physical health. We’ve also launched a DE&I ambassadors programme worldwide and have successfully rolled out a global parental leave policy, giving 20 weeks of paid leave to primary caregivers and 12 to secondary caregivers. We were also certified a ‘Great Place To Work’ in 2022 in 16 countries across the world.  Governance: Social, environmental, and economic sustainability considerations are now embedded in our company’s ‘Articles of Association’ to ensure sustainability is part of business decision-making on a daily basis.  Environment: We’re proud of our factories’ pioneering circular approach, as well as our extensive efforts to develop more eco-friendly packaging, recycling and product refill programmes. We also have a biodiversity strategy to minimise our negative impacts and maximise the positive ones, along with our climate strategy, which is aligned with the Net-Zero Standard.  Customers: Key factors here include the quality of our products, their sustainable certifications, our customer feedback that inspires us to keep improving, and our creative initiatives that promote beauty and action that is good for body, mind, and planet.  As a B Corp, we reinforce our commitment as a business to constantly improve the way we operate. We aim to pay each team member worldwide a living wage, strengthen the collaboration with our suppliers to minimise environmental impacts, and ensure social and environmental sustainability is embedded in everything we do. #LOCCITANEGroup #BCorp #sustainablebeauty #ethicalbeauty
