Wir freuen uns seitens der Lucky Shrimp AG unsere Türen und Tore zu öffnen! Endlich können wir sie zeigen, die erste Zürcher Shrimp-Farm. In den vergangenen drei Jahren haben wir erst lange getüftelt, gerechnet und geplant, dann 200m3 Holz und viele Rohre verbaut und schliesslich dreizehn Tanks installiert mit Platz für über 550m3 Wasser. Nun werden die ersten Tanks mit Shrimps bevölkert und wir freuen uns riesig, euch unseren Betrieb zu zeigen. Bei einem Glas Wein steht euch unser Team für Fragen und Infos zur Seite. Sidler, David Weiermair et al. --- We are delighted to announce that Lucky Shrimp AG is opening its doors! At last, we can present it to you: Zurich’s first shrimp farm. Over the past three years, we’ve been experimenting, calculating, and planning. Then, we constructed 200m³ of wood, installed many pipes, and set up thirteen tanks with a capacity of over 550m³ of water. Now, the first tanks are being populated with shrimp, and we are thrilled to show you our facility. Over a glass of wine, our team will be available to answer your questions and provide information.

133 cubic Swiss wood to protect mangroves Sarah C. Sidler in WALD und HOLZ 05/24 The company Lucky Shrimp AG is predominantly expanding its modular facility in Winterthur using domestic raw materials. Additionally, by producing shrimps in Switzerland, mangrove forests are preserved. When one thinks of a shrimp farm, sterile halls full of plastic basins and lots of technology probably come to mind. However, Lucky Shrimp relies on sustainable resources from Switzerland. "In total, 200 cubic meters of wood are used in our production facility on two levels. Two-thirds of this is Swiss spruce and fir wood from the region," explains Andreas Zaugg. Together with Alexander Dubsky, he founded Lucky Shrimp four years ago. Today, the managing directors and environmental engineers employ marine biologists, computer scientists, and mechanical engineers with the clear goal of realizing large-scale ecological shrimp production.
