The Cube Navigation System
Software für die Integration medizinischer Geräte
An innovative navigation system for precise alignment of needles and other thin instruments in CT-guided punctures. The system consists of planning software and patented Cube accessories. Made to support radiologists with image guided interventions, double oblique and complex trajectories become easier to perform and more efficient compared to interventions without navigation.

Pittsburgh is #navigatingwithease! The first US interventions using the #CubeNavigationSystem were successfully performed at the AHN Jefferson Hospital. After a short training, the Cube Navigation System was used to perform two lung biopsies- defining the optimal route to the target and using the Access Cube to place the instruments. Thanks to Radiology Physician Assistant Elizabeth Eslich for the invaluable support! Feedback to the system has been extremely positive - we’re looking forward to more cases! We are very excited to see the incredible results of the #COLLISION trial presented by Martijn Meijerink at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) in Chicago yesterday! For the few of you who haven’t yet seen it, this study compared standard surgical resection to thermal ablation for colorectal liver metastases, and not only do the findings highlight #thermalablation as a valuable tool in the interventional oncology toolkit, but the results were so conclusive that the study was stopped at halftime because they had shown such a substantial benefit of thermal ablation over resection. Specifically the study found that thermal ablation: "Substantially reduced morbidity, mortality, and hospital stay length. Demonstrated equal to superior local control of small-size CRLM. Showed no difference in local and distant tumor progression-free survival. Did not compromise overall survival.” These results underscore the significant potential of thermal ablation in improving patient outcomes, something we’ve long believed in. But we’re curious, given the results of the COLLISION trial, what do you expect the impact to be in your institution?

We’re pleased to share that our latest publication, a validation of our Augmented Reality application for training (developed in partnership with ETH Zürich's Product Development Group, Tobias Stauffer and supported by Innosuisse), has been published in the International Journal of Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery. Evaluating the effectiveness of #AR as a training tool when compared to conventional paper instructions, the participants (34 medical students) found the use of AR to be exceptionally effective and showed significantly higher user satisfaction, demonstrating great potential to train and support clinicians in their daily work! Read the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/d8XSyysv We are working on expanding the application and its usage - stay tuned for more information on this exciting collaboration! #alwaysinnovating #medicaltemplates

Last week our CTO Michael Peyer tested out the latest version of our #AugmentedReality app for training on the Cube Navigation System, as part of a joint project with ETH Zürich Product Development Group, led by Tobias Stauffer and supported by Innosuisse. Integrated with the #AppleVisionPro, the program facilitates training for new users by allowing them to compare the planned vs actual angle and location of the needle in real time. This closed-loop system includes: ➡ #Holographicdisplays for precise coordinate guidance. ➡A #deeplearning algorithm to ensure correct needle placement. ➡Alerts for potential deviations during procedures. Stay tuned for a sneak peek of this exciting project!
