Our team has already welcomed this innovative assistant at our AutoStore port by giving it a fitting name—“Pico”! At the moment, Pico is in its initial phase, where we are fine-tuning its calibration to ensure it picks items as efficiently and smoothly as possible. Guided by an advanced camera system, Pico can visually detect items in our bins and expertly pick them up using suction cups. Sounds straightforward? Well, with around 30,000 different items in our AutoStore - each varying in size and weight – there is plenty to master! For now, Pico is focused on picking single-item orders. Once fully calibrated, Pico will allow us to provide: ✅ Even faster operations ✅ Higher processing capacity ✅ Shorter lead times And we are just getting started! Looking ahead, we plan to assign Pico even more complex tasks, pushing our capabilities to the next level. This large facility is where all parcels from Eastern Switzerland and the Zurich area are sorted before being sent off to the local delivery centres.
