This year’s Earth Overshoot Day falls on August 1st, highlighting a crucial moment for our planet and businesses alike. From January 1st to August 1st, humanity has consumed more natural resources than Earth can regenerate in an entire year. This is a strong reminder that we must act urgently to align our practices with sustainable goals.    The persistence of overshoot has led to significant declines in biodiversity, increased greenhouse gases and intensified competition for essential resources. These symptoms manifest in extreme weather events, which disrupt supply chains and affect business continuity.    What Can We Do?  - Innovate for Sustainability: Embrace sustainable practices in product development, supply chain management, and operations. - Collaborate for Impact: Partner with stakeholders across industries to drive collective action towards reducing our ecological footprint. - Commit to Clear Goals: Align with international intentions, such as protecting 30% of the biosphere and reducing carbon emissions by 45% by 2030.    #EarthOvershootDay #OEKOTEX #Change

We're proud to share that we've found a wonderful new home for our notepads with Caritas Zürich and a local school “Riedenhalden”. These notepads will now be used by students and for various projects, ensuring they continue to serve a valuable purpose. Even the cardboard packaging is being put to good use.     By reducing our paper use and supporting education and charitable projects, we're taking another step towards sustainability and community support.     #Sustainability #OEKOTEX #CommunitySupport #DigitalTransformation

Did you know that PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are synthetic chemicals that are used extensively in cosmetics, cookware, textiles and leather industries? These chemicals are highly valued for their water and stain-resistant properties, making them essential in the production of waterproof fabrics, durable outdoor gear and leather goods. However, the downside of PFAS is their persistence in the environment and potential risks to human health. Known as "forever chemicals," PFAS contain carbon-fluorine bonds that can remain intact for over a thousand years without breaking down.    Want to know how OEKO-TEX® handles PFAS? Visit our FAQ section for more details:  https://lnkd.in/eN3P3NMe      #OEKOTEX #PFAS #Materials #Chemicals
