We are welcoming Gilles Ottervanger as a new member to the Optiml team! Gilles is coming from Google where he worked on automating abuse detection on YouTube by combining human knowledge with machine learning. His research on multi-objective black-box optimization of machine learning algorithms for early time series classification has been published in the peer reviewed journal Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery. (https://lnkd.in/dy54sTyp) Gilles will be using his expertise to advance Optiml’s optimization models from asset to portfolio that is the core engine of our decision-making platform. Thrilled to share first insights about Odyssey, a joint project with the US consultancy Telesto Strategy! 🎯 Odyssey, a platform powered by Optiml, allowed them to create actionable, data-driven roadmaps for reducing emissions and operating costs at the property level. A warm welcome to Optiml, Mel! Melanie is joining our team as a Senior UX Researcher, assuring that we build customer-centered solutions with superior user experience to create sustainable value for our clients! She brings a wealth (10 years!) of experience across data science, renewable energy, and finance. A psychologist by background, she ventured into Human-Computer interaction leading her to do a PhD at University College London on smart meters and postdocs in environmental data science and peer-to-peer energy trading. Since then she has been working as a consultant for digital products at the intersection of human cognition and sustainable digital transformation. Mel will bring our UX to the next level by focusing on our users’ experience in our cutting-edge real estate decision-making platform. Looking forward to working with you, Mel! 🤗
