This morning started on a high note as I hosted Jonathan Hilton and we had a thoughtful discussion about the importance of our alma mater connections. I genuinely believe that #meaningfulrelationships are among the greatest treasures in life. Whether these connections lead to business growth or enrich our lives personally, investing in our networks is key—and #alumni communities are often the most powerful source of potential synergy. Today, it was a pleasure to discuss with Jonathan, who is a true advocate for strengthening ties among Swiss school alumni. I’m honored to be a part of this legacy across two generations, as a graduate of the Business School Lausanne (BSL) and now as a parent, with my son studying at Ecole Lemania Both schools, along with other renowned Swiss educational institutions, are managed by Philippe Du Pasquier fostering an environment of deep, lasting relationships formed in small, boutique class settings. The BSL alumni community is unique, as we grew up in a space where small class sizes (6-10 students) foster lifelong friendships. I chose the same intimate, relationship-focused educational experience for my son because this closeness builds connections that last a lifetime. Switzerland’s #privateschool system attracts families from around the world, who then stay connected for generations. It’s a choice that shapes not only our future but that of our children, by aligning them with peers who share similar values. Each day, I’m grateful for my EMBA in Sustainable Business Development from BSL, where David Claivaz, Ph.D Dominique Bourqui, Ph.D and the team have dedicated themselves to cultivating impactful, sustainability-minded leaders. And today, I was thrilled to learn more about Jonathan Hilton’s work in fostering #sustainablevalues at Lemania, setting the right foundation for the students, including my son. Here’s to celebrating the unity and strength of our #almamater I look forward to future alumni gatherings and, as always, I love inviting people for deep discussions. Recently, I took an #augmentedreality tour of Barcelona, and as I looked at the photos, a thought struck me: how similar this virtual experience is to our social media presence. On LinkedIn, each of us interacts with a vast network of “virtual friends,” and we often augment their image in our minds based on the fragments we see online. Personally, I have a high level of visibility on LinkedIn, and every day I receive a variety of direct messages—some fascinating, but many far removed from my personal goals or Rahim Invest FO 🇨🇭 رحيم للاستثمار business focus. For those in the spotlight, like my well-known friends, it’s impossible to control these perceptions fully. However, when it comes to my personal image on social media, I’ve realized that #transparency is key. While in Spain this week, I couldn’t miss the hottest news: Rafael Nadal announced his retirement from tennis. The former World No. 1’s impending goodbye closes the book on another chapter for an all-time great in tennis, following Roger Federer and Serena Williams farewells in 2022, and Andy Murray retirement earlier this year. What inspires me most about Nadal’s success is how his career was defined by overcoming injuries. Despite significant periods of being sidelined due to health issues, Nadal always fought back, embodying resilience and pushing the boundaries of athletic longevity. In his farewell, Nadal said: "In life, everything has a beginning and an end. I think it’s the right time to put an end to a career that has been long and much more successful than I could have ever imagined. I feel super, super lucky for all the things I’ve been able to experience, especially my great rivals." The deepest wisdom I take from his statement is his gratitude for life’s challenges and, especially, for competitors—because only your network, from partners to rivals, defines the level of your game. I am deeply grateful to all the incredible, exceptional people in my life. Their personal examples remind me there are no true limitations—only the right way to evaluate your best options at any moment. This is why I effortlessly walk away from "not my things"—whether deals, potential partners, or clients. I focus all my energy on supporting and empowering people who share my level of the game because you can’t play on two courts simultaneously. I wish enormous success to Mr. Nadal in his next chapter. Tonight, our business assembly between two influential cantons—Vaud and Valais—where business connections were made in an atmosphere that brought together the best of both regions, was graced by the presence of the one and only Baillifard Eddy - the "Pope of Raclette," Raclette World Champion, and ambassador of Swiss raclette traditions. His mastery and dedication to this iconic dish have made him a celebrity far beyond Valais and #Switzerland Swiss raclette is more than just a dish; it's an emblem of the heritage that captivated palates as far back as the Roman era when alpine cheese was a prized commodity and exchange currency. Thanks to the impeccable organization we had the privilege of stepping out of our business routine and into an unforgettable evening. It was a wonderful reminder of the enchanting experiences that await us soon—skiing on the beautiful slopes of Vaud and Valais, making pit stops in cosy chalets to enjoy a heartwarming raclette in a breathtaking Swiss mountain setting.
