This birthday held a unique significance for me—not because it was “+1 year,” but because it highlighted how far I’ve come since stepping away from the #security of world-famous corporate brands. For years, I was deeply embedded in powerful organizations, from the #Big4 like Bain and Accenture to tech giants like Intel and Kaspersky Lab, and eventually led ESG DeepTech investments in 30 countries with a major industrial corporation, Rostec. Yet, despite all this experience, I was terrified to launch my own business. After over 20 years as a top manager in corporate life, leaving the backing of these well-known brands felt like losing a part of my #identity I doubted myself, wondering if I could truly stand alone without a corporate name behind me. The biggest challenge? This morning started on a high note as I hosted Jonathan Hilton and we had a thoughtful discussion about the importance of our alma mater connections. The BSL alumni community is unique, as we grew up in a space where small class sizes (6-10 students) foster lifelong friendships. I chose the same intimate, relationship-focused educational experience for my son because this closeness builds connections that last a lifetime. Recently, I took an #augmentedreality tour of Barcelona, and as I looked at the photos, a thought struck me: how similar this virtual experience is to our social media presence.
