The Swiss Clinical Trial Organisation (SCTO) is a research infrastructure of national importance and an academic reference institution for high-quality, patient-oriented clinical research in Switzerland (www.scto.ch). The seven Clinical Trial Units (CTUs) of the SCTO CTU Network provide all the services and support needed to plan, conduct, and analyse high-quality clinical research projects. Each CTU coordinates one of the eight SCTO Platforms focusing on one key area of clinical research. The SCTO Platforms’ experts provide practical solutions (tools and resources) nationwide for researchers involved in academic clinical research (www.sctoplatforms.ch).

Es hat erstmals einen einheitlichen Rahmen für die Forschung am Menschen geschaffen, was die Transparenz und Sicherheit in der Humanforschung bedeutend verbessert hat. Anlässlich dieses Jubiläums organisiert das BAG das Symposium «10 Jahre Humanforschungsgesetz: Vergangenheit, Gegenwart, Zukunft» am Freitag, 22. November 2024 im Kursaal in Bern. Neben weiteren Referierenden wird Katrin Simioni am Anlass einen Blick in die Zukunft der klinischen Forschung am Menschen werfen.     🎉 Congratulations to Alan Haynes on receiving a SCTO statistical programming grant for the randolist/ralloc project! 🎉 At the recent annual meeting of the SCTO Statistical Platform, 23 statisticians from eight institutions – including CTC Zürich, SAKK, DKF Basel, DCR Bern, CRC Lausanne, Dept. Biostatistics UZH, CTU Lugano and CTU St. Gallen – met up and discussed new updates, projects and awarded grants to support the development of statistical code. At this meeting, Alan Haynes and the DCR Statistics team received a grant for their work creating a randomization list generation tool. #DCR #SCTO #Statistics #ClinicalResearch

    🌟 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐂𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞! 🌟   On Monday, 7 October 2024, we gathered at Sitem Bern for a dynamic roundtable discussion with representatives from the SCTO, Swissmedic, swissethic, and SwissPedNet.   We delved into crucial updates impacting the clinical research landscape in Switzerland. The SCTO shared exciting news about new tools set to enhance our harmonisation efforts. Swissmedic updated us on the implementation of the revised Clinical Trials Ordinance (ClinO), while swissethics provided insights into the impact of recent changes to the Human Research Act (HRA) ordinance on clinical research.   A big thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this enlightening exchange. 💡🤝

    The Swiss Parliament has increased the resources allocated to the SNSF and the Academies for the years 2025-2028 by 13.4 million francs.   The SNSF will use these funds to support additional relevant research projects in the coming years, thereby advancing Switzerland's economic and social progress.
