ℹ media release: Half-year-performance 2024 Skyguide managed and monitored 628'205 flights under instrument flight rules (IFR) in the first half of 2024. This represents a year-on-year increase of 12.8%, and a decline of 0.5% with respect to the first half of 2019. 94.6% of all flights handled by Skyguide were punctual, which is 2.6 points below the punctuality of the first half of 2019.    Traffic in the airspace above Switzerland and in the delegated areas managed by Skyguide increased at a two-figure rate (10%-14%) every month since the start of the year, reaching 99.5% of 2019 traffic levels (month-on-month) by the end of the first semester. It's a Wrap! 🚴♂️ The #biketowork challenge has officially concluded, and what fantastic results our teams delivered! Our 26 teams collectively biked 41'607 km, saving 5'991 kg of CO2 – truly remarkable! Commuting is a significant part of our corporate emissions. To help reduce them, cycling is a powerful alternative, as our dedicated employees demonstrated this past month. Skyguide partners with Police cantonale vaudoise  🤝 Skyguide's U-Space team proudly signed a contract with the Cantonal Police of Vaud (VD) at Airspace World to digitalise drone flight authorisations. This agreement inaugurates our Authority Approval Service within the Swiss Drone Portal, enabling the digital management of drone flight authorisations. Drone pilots and operators will seamlessly file their activities through our Swiss U-Space application, and the authorities will review and manage the flight authorisation requests via our Special Flight Office tool.  🌐 Hosted in the public cloud, this innovative Software as a Service (SaaS) will be implemented across the entire Canton of Vaud. The roll-out will increase the Cantonal Police of Vaud capabilities in the management of the 3rd dimension, with upcoming cantonal legislation updates and will benefit several local authorities, including aerodromes, prison facilities, wildlife protection departments, and police forces. #drones #dronemanagement #innovation

Schellenberg on his election as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors. He succeeds Walter T. Vogel, who served as Chairman for nine years.
