Always a pleasure to engage with the highly motivated and talented students of the Finance Club University of Zurich. During this year’s workshop, members of our investment team provided insight into an investment in battery energy storage systems (“BESS”). BESS have become a well established piece of the energy transition puzzle and our team members were happy to convey some of their knowledge based on our firm’s longstanding experience in the theme. #energytransition #batterystorage #infrastructure #jobsinfinance

We are pleased to have our credit strategy backed by the European Investment Fund (EIF) and are keen to direct further capital towards energy efficiency and a wider set of energy transition solutions together with our strong network of project implementation partners. We have built a unique track record of more than 10 years investing in “as-a-service” energy transition propositions through our credit strategy, having deployed close to EUR 700 million to date, and look forward to further growing the strategy in the coming months. #energytransition #energyefficiency #infrastructure Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dm2ifZC8

Meet ReFeel New Energy (“RNE”), an Italian solar PV and battery storage platform we set up in early 2022. A little more than two years later, RNE has built a project pipeline of close to 1.5 GW generation capacity, and is now getting ready to “make these megawatts real and start injecting electricity into the grid”, as Managing Partner of RNE, Matteo Donati, explains. You can watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/dnvGzmzE Visit RNE’s website for more information: https://lnkd.in/dPsJeKiE #renewableenergy #energystorage #energytransition

For our anniversary, we headed up to Zermatt in the Swiss alps to reflect on and celebrate the achievements of the past 15 years. We learned about a project to build a 20 MW alpine solar park, hiked through the beautiful landscapes of Zermatt, and enjoyed the local cuisine. As longstanding team members would attest to: Not much has changed with regards to the SUSI team’s favourite pastimes over the last 15 years as we continue to share an appreciation for nature, sports, community, good food (and karaoke). 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐲𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤. Today, the permit for the expansion of our existing 95 MW Lyngsåsa wind farm in Alvesta, Småland by an additional 95 MW of solar PV capacity has officially come into effect. With 190 MW combined renewable energy generation capacity, the hybrid park is expected to deliver 425 GWh of electricity per year, enough to meet approximately 85,000 Swedish households’ electricity demand (excluding heating). By combining wind and solar power production, the asset will achieve a more consistent production profile with an enhanced ability to maximise revenues. The expansion project is also the first in Sweden to receive an environmental permit based on a voluntarily initiated thorough review by local authorities, which will provide further long-term stability. Projects like the Lyngsåsa expansion benefit from lean implementation at comparatively lower cost by optimising land use and by leveraging the existing infrastructure and grid connection. The expansion thus exemplifies our active approach to value creation, as our portfolio management teams continuously explore and implement value-add opportunities. #renewableenergy #windpower #solarenergy

We have agreed to acquire the 39 MW Dam Nai wind farm located in the Vietnam province of Ninh Thuận from Norwegian-based renewable energy company Scatec ASA. Together with the associated operating company, it will provide an anchor for the development, construction, and operation of further utility-scale renewable energy projects in nearby regions as we continue to build up a dedicated Southeast Asian utility-scale renewables platform on behalf of our clients. #renewableenergy #emergingmarkets #energytransition Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gMF_HFii

Meet Encore Renewable Energy (“Encore”), a U.S. solar PV and battery energy storage company based in the state of Vermont. We launched our partnership with Encore a little more than a year ago and have since seen the company evolve from a developer into a vertically integrated independent power producer that develops, finances, constructs, and operates its own assets. Just recently, Encore started construction of its first community-scale solar PV project in the state of New York where it also continues developing a 90 MW project pipeline. The project incorporates a parnership with a local family farm to manage the vegetation around the solar panels through sheep grazing. As Encore Co-CEO, Chad Farrell, explains in this video, they have utilised #agrivoltaics to optimise land use going as far back as 2017 when the company delivered the first agrivoltaic project to their homestate of Vermont. To hear more from Chad on Encore’s activities, watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/daiCydmB Visit Encore’s website for more information: https://lnkd.in/dDdxHz9 #renewableenergy #energystorage #energytransition
