Info
The Swiss Personalized Health Network is an initiative of the Swiss Government which contributes to the development, implementation and validation of coordinated data infrastructures in order to make health-relevant data interoperable and shareable for research in Switzerland. SPHN is led by the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (www.sams.ch) in collaboration with the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (www.sib.swiss). The Management Office together with the SIB Personalized Health Informatics Group (PHI) coordinate the development of the SPHN initiative.

New network announcement: the Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN) launches a new cross-hospital data query tool powered by Tune Insight! Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN) is introducing the Data Exploration and Analysis System (DEAS), poised to transform data-driven research in Switzerland. It offers researchers improved tools for conducting data queries and feasibility studies. This platform will replace the current Federated Query System, which will be discontinued by December 2024. DEAS, developed in collaboration with SPHN and Swiss university hospitals, will enable secure access to aggregated data from Swiss hospitals. Powered by Tune Insight, DEAS complies with the highest levels of data protection, based on state-of-the-art privacy technologies including homomorphic encryption, secure multiparty computation, federated analytics and differential privacy. For more details, read the announcement on SPHN’s website: https://lnkd.in/e9QHs9Cj Team Tune Insight: Juan Ramón Troncoso-Pastoriza, Romain Bouyé, Frederic Pont, Jean-Pierre Hubaux, Manon M., Yassine Boukhari, Florimond Houssiau, Kadiatu Jalloh, MSC, Thierry Bossy, Taisiia Efremova, Boris Flesch, Adrien Prost, Loïs Huguenin-Dumittan, Mariya Georgieva, Francesco Marino, Bertrand Spilthooren #personalizedhealth #federatedanalytics #datacollaboration #dataprotection #dataprivacy #federatedlearning #swissstartups

Data for Health 2024 – Let’s Talk About Patient-Centered Data Use! 🌍 I’m honored to join Data for Health 2024 in Bern. I’ll be part of the Patient Panel titled "Understanding Patients' Expectations in Personalized Health," discussing how patient perspectives are integrated into the evolving data ecosystem. bringing essential questions such as: Are we prioritizing transparency, accessibility, and control in ways that resonate with patients? patient expectations in personalized health to the forefront. It’s time we address some critical questions: Are we truly meeting patient needs with data-driven health solutions? How do we balance technological potential with genuine, ethical patient care? In our panel, I’ll join David Haerry (Positivrat Schweiz PD Dr. Jasmin Barman-Aksözen Olivier Menzel to dig into these issues. From my perspective at EUPATI I see a need for stronger patient empowerment, clearer communication, and a shift from data ownership to shared responsibility. 📅 When: October 31, 2024 📍 Where: Kursaal Bern, Switzerland https://lnkd.in/exaPDuPt Let’s build a health future where data serves people—meaningfully, ethically, and transparently. #opensource #openinnovation #patientsfirst EUPATI EIT Health Arcondis Group Patient Innovation AIT Startups EUPATI Switzerland/ Schweiz / Suisse / Svizzera (EUPATI CH)

Had a great time at the #SCTExpo24 by SNOMED International in Seoul. Great to see how SNOMED CT gets used in more and more countries and applications. With our work in Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN) we are leveraging SNOMED CT to build semantic knowledge graphs. Looking forward to seeing all of you next year in Antwerp, Belgium. #FAIR #knowledgegraphs #datainteroperability #standards

We are piloting the SPHN Data Exploration and Analysis System (DEAS) - a more powerful query system that will provide researchers with an easy-to-use platform for both, conducting feasibility queries and exploring data to support hypothesis generation. In addition to advanced patient counts, DEAS will allow researchers to explore value distributions and survival curves. It will provide secure access to aggregated data from Swiss hospitals while maintaining the highest privacy standards. Individual patient-level data will remain securely stored decentralized at the hospitals. This pilot project represents an important step forward in enabling personalized health research. As part of this development, the current SPHN Federated Query System system will be discontinued as of December 2024. https://lnkd.in/e9QHs9Cj #DataExploration #DataAnalysis #KnowledgeGraph #FAIR #SPHN

🎉 We're excited to announce the launch of the Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN) metadata catalogue called SPHN Schema Scope! https://lnkd.in/e5jZsuSh SPHN Schema Scope offers researchers a highly interactive way to visualize data schemas, simplifying the navigation of even the most complex data structures. This web service offers seamless access to both the SPHN Schema and project-specific schemas. With SPHN Schema Scope, you can easily browse relationships between datasets, identify relevant schema subsets, and streamline interoperability and data integration across the network. And this is just the beginning, future updates will bring even more powerful features like enhanced schema interactions and additional descriptive project metadata. 👉 Curious? Explore Schema Scope today: schemascope.dcc.sib.swiss 💬 Got feedback or ideas? We’d love to hear from you! Email us at fair-data-team@sib.swiss. #KnowledgeGraphs #Interoperability #MetaData

Cantonal hospitals are joining the Swiss Personalized Health Network! The Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN) has launched a new onboarding program to integrate cantonal hospitals into the SPHN and BioMedIT network. This initiative is a crucial step toward standardized data delivery across Swiss healthcare institutions, paving the way for multi-site personalized medicine research. The five cantonal hospitals joining this program include Luzerner Kantonsspital, Kantonsspital Aarau AG, Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC), Kantonsspital Baden AG and Kantonsspital St.Gallen KSSG. The non-profit organization SAKK Schweizerische Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Klinische Krebsforschung will also join the initiative. The institutions will map their data to international standards like #snomedct and #loinc, ensuring consistent and accurate data exchange. By implementing the SPHN Connector and the Secure Encryption and Transfer Tool (sett), these organizations are setting up the IT infrastructure needed for secure, interoperable data sharing. This collaboration marks a significant advancement in personalized medicine promoting better healthcare outcomes for all. #knowledgegraph #interoperabiliy #network #datasharing SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics
