The renowned Art Basel art fair – and our flooring was right in the middle of it  The design studio Kim Klein LLC from New York, which produces exhibition pieces and brand installations around the world, was looking for a light-coloured floor for its art installation at Art Basel and finally found the perfect fit in our SWISS FLOORS collection. They chose a decor from the SYNC CHROME line: Davos Oak D3035. The light decor impresses visually with its simplicity and elegance and, thanks to its high resistance to scratches and abrasion, it is perfect for all rooms with medium foot traffic – making it ideal for a temporary exhibition with high visitor numbers. We produce ‘green energy’ ♻️    It is our great pleasure to share the news that SWISS KRONO AG has been officially producing ‘green electricity’ for a few days now! The photovoltaic system, comprising of 3,500 solar modules, on our hall roof was successfully connected to the power grid last week. With a total area of 9,100 m2, it has a capacity of 1,540 kWp, which is fully fed into our site.    For SWISS KRONO AG, this is a major and important milestone in terms of sustainability and energy supply. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the employees involved, as well as Swiss Solar City AG and AEW Energie AG, for the successful implementation of this energy project. German Design Award 2025 is ours!   At this year’s award ceremony in Frankfurt, we were thrilled to receive the award for the visual brand of the latest flooring innovation “artureon” in the category “Excellent Communications Design – Editorial.” It was definitely photo-worthy – and here is our photo of the month! 😊 The appearance of the flooring product, consisting of a leporello, sample box, and website, featured product images staged in the forest and impressive landscape shots, perfectly in line with the claim "Art by Nature."     The jury's conclusion: "The new flooring generation combines sustainability with aesthetic appeal, using a minimalist visual language to emphasize its connection to nature. The brand design for 'artureon' is convincing due to the seamless integration of design and brand world, supported by well-thought-out accompanying communication."    We are proud to have developed such a successful brand appearance together with EFFEKOM, a locally rooted agency, which, along with the website designed by ROSAROT, was able to claim the prestigious German Design Award 2025. Replacement construction of the recycling plant started    The year 2025 has now really picked up speed - just like our construction work for the replacement of the recycling plant that was destroyed in the major fire in August 2023. The construction project will keep us busy at the site for a few more months and will certainly provide some challenging and exciting moments, but we are already looking forward to a modern, efficient plant!    The official start of the construction site was in January. The focus: wood-based materials for indoor and outdoor use   On the evening of January 30, Lignum Holzwirtschaft Zentralschweiz (LHZ) organized a networking event together with SWISS KRONO at the Menznau site. The focus was on current element and panel systems that are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. First, Tobias König, Project Manager at SWISS KRONO AG, reported on current research work that is opening up new and exciting prospects for wood-based materials in outdoor areas. Markus Fuhrer, CEO of Balteschwiler AG, then took over and showed how the Magnumboard®OSB is recommended as an intelligent solution for material-efficient construction. Markus Kaufmann, Managing Director of Schreinerei Kaufmann AG, concluded the series of presentations. He praised the emission-free BE.YOND chipboard, which already makes a difference during processing by ensuring noticeably more pleasant air quality in factory premises than conventional chipboard.   The subsequent round of questions showed the great interest in the topic. There was a lively discussion before the participants moved on to the culinary part, which also marked the end of the event.
