Between the farm and your table, there’s a complex system running behind the scenes to deliver food around the world – this is the ‘hidden middle’ 🌍 But, despite its importance, it’s an often-overlooked part of the agri-food chain. Creating enabling policies and financial incentives across the entire value chain, including the ‘hidden middle’, can help reduce food loss and waste, enhance food security, and drive climate resilience. We are demonstrating the circular potential of cartons 🧃. How? By introducing a package that uses certified recycled polymers, linked to used beverage cartons, together with Lactalis Group. This industry-first, currently on shelf in Spain, reduces reliance on virgin, fossil-based materials, turning waste into new resources. A concrete demonstration that collective action can pave the way towards material circularity. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/exDFRrBm

🌍 Each country’s climate plan helps transform the way we feed the world. As the 2025 revision of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) approaches, it’s clear: climate action plans that overlook every step of the food value chain are missing a critical opportunity to help feed our future. 93% of current NDCs mention food systems, most focus on agriculture or diets. What’s missing to achieve even greater impact? The ‘hidden middle’, such as food processing, packaging and transport. To help meet the Paris Agreement targets, we need bold, transformative, and incentive-driven policies that encompass whole food systems. The upcoming NDCs revision provides governments an opportunity to create these. Learn more about the holistic shift needed to support food systems transformation: https://lnkd.in/eVdbfKry
