It was an incredible opportunity to connect with winemakers, producers, and wine enthusiasts. 🌍 New study of industrial Fe-containing NP emissions using the icpTOF 2R Researchers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences used the icpTOF to quantify iron-containing nanoparticle (NP) emissions from 132 industrial plants across 13 sectors in China. Findings show hazardous waste incineration, pig iron production, and electric-arc furnace steelmaking as top sources, with emissions reaching 1.03 × 10²⁴ particles per year. 🔥 New research in the American Chemical Society journal Environmental Science and Technology reveals crucial insights into the size-dependent toxicity of magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs) from coal fly ash. Led by East China Normal University, the study used a TOFWERK icpTOF R to analyze the elemental composition of MNPs, showing that smaller particles carry higher levels of toxic metals like Cr and Zn. These MNPs, key components of PM2.5, can induce oxidative stress and contribute to diseases such as neurodegeneration.
