Toys For Planet is a swiss-based non-profit organization with the purpose to ensure inclusive childhood – for children and their parents. We believe that diversity, equity and inclusion start early and we work towards society, where inclusive childhood becomes a norm. Our toys are made by ateliers for people with disabilities. We also run projects with the educational purpose to showcase and practice the inclusion of children with disabilities and children of all races, languages, religions, genders, and socio-economic backgrounds. APTE-Autisme : la musique au service des enfants autistes 🎶 “Voir les progrès sur ces enfants autistes, ça me donne la chair de poule.” 🤩 Fondée en 2006 par Françoise Dorocq, l’Association APTE-Autisme offre des cours de musique et de danse pour les personnes autistes. Grâce à son travail, 225 professeurs ont été formés, et 30 classes ont été ouvertes à travers le monde, aidant ainsi plus de 2000 personnes. Françoise Dorocq a été honorée de la Légion d'honneur et est officier de l'ordre du mérite pour son engagement envers les enfants autistes et l'accès à la culture. OOO is on for 48 hours. An update for my wonderful LinkedIn community. Harry’s surgery went well. A plum sized cyst was removed from inside his head along with some wires from a previous operation 😳. He’s had a conformer placed in his socket to keep the shape for a few weeks and his eye has been sewn closed (hence me covering it). We’re home now and he’s keen to go toy shopping so that’s a brilliant sign 🤣 Meanwhile, I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. Seven months of pushing to be heard, worrying, nightmares, plans etc and now my mind and body can relax. I’m taking today and tomorrow off but I am excited to come back because when you have the love and support from those around you, work is a pleasure and not a chore. Which, incidentally is exactly the point of me being on this platform. Support the parent carers in your workplace and they will be keen to get back to you because we’re dedicated to everyone and everything we love.
No matter what they say, you are beautiful! No matter what they think, go for it! No matter how much doubts you have, just go for it!

Inspiring.. no matter what is your past or what the disabilities you have, you can live the live you dream about
Saddened that this man passed away today at age 78. But his story is absolutely incredible.. He spent his entire life in an Iron Lung. Paul Alexander contracted Polio in 1952 when he was just 6 years old. After rapidly losing function in his arms and legs a doctor performed a tracheotomy and put him in the Iron lung, a device from the early 1900's which keeps him alive. The machine helps him breathe by using negative pressure to take air into his lungs. Whilst this situation would make anyone want to give up, Paul says: “I didn’t want to die. So I continued to fight.” Despite being paralysed from the neck down, Paul graduated high school, fought his way into college, passed the bar exam and became a lawyer. But he didn’t stop there. Paul wrote his own biography entirely with a pen in his mouth. He wrote it because he wanted to inspire thousands of people. Paul says: “No matter where you’re from or the challenges you could be facing, you can truly do anything.
