Ophthalmologists and pathologists are set to benefit from the launch of an innovative and essential reference tool, created by Unilabs Pathologie Paris (UPP)’s President, Dr Marc Putterman. The Anatomoclinical Atlas in Ophthalmology is a unique 350-page visual reference guide focussing specifically on oculo-orbital pathologies. Unlike other works of the same type, this Atlas is structured into two sections: one dedicated to adult pathologies and the other to paediatric pathologies. We sat down with Dr Putterman to find out what he believes the Atlas can do for ophthalmology practitioners and patients. #Healthcare #patients #Healthtech #opthalmology https://lnkd.in/gWh3y3ww

Today we join the world in recognising #Movember, an annual, global movement to raise awareness of men’s health issues. This month is all about encouraging men to monitor their physical and mental health and to seek support when needed. The more we talk about it, the more mainstream it becomes, and the more likely men are to achieve earlier diagnoses and access proactive healthcare solutions. To kick off, we spoke with Dr Martina Martins Favre, a leading Unilabs radiologist in Geneva, about the critical role of radiology in diagnosing and managing prostate cancer; one of the most common cancers amongst men. https://lnkd.in/g3TxGHFs #Healthcare #Patients #ProstateCancer #Movember #Radiology

At Unilabs, we believe in the power of effective diagnostics and preventative care to support all those in pursuit of a healthier life. This World Mental Health Day is a timely reminder to all of us that maintaining mental wellbeing through regular self-care is just as important as ensuring our physical health. One of the ways we support the mental wellbeing of people and communities is through our genetic counselling service. By helping individuals to understand their genetic makeup and thus, possible risks, genetic counselling can encourage people to take proactive steps towards a healthier future for themselves and their family. Our service also addresses the emotional impact of genetic conditions, supporting patients as they navigate complex decisions. To find out more about genetic testing, you can read our interview with Marie Met-Domestici, a seasoned genetic counsellor at Unilabs Switzerland: https://lnkd.in/gNqWYD_d However self-care looks for you, let’s all use World Mental Health Day to recommit to it. #Healthcare #Patients #HealthTech #MentalHealth #WorldMentalHealthDay

Every year, Alzheimer's disease robs millions of people worldwide of their memories, cognitive abilities, and independence. One of the best things we can do for Alzheimer’s patients is to broaden access to faster, cheaper diagnostic solutions that allow us to target the disease in its earliest stages, before irreversible brain damage or mental decline has occurred. Our partnership with C2N, whose innovative portfolio of blood tests can detect Alzheimer’s disease markers is helping us to inform medical management and treatment. With tests becoming available later in the year, we believe this partnership will transform the diagnostic experience for people with cognitive concerns and generate better long-term outcomes. To mark World Alzheimer’s Day, we sat down with Unilabs’ Clinical Pathologist and Head of Medical at Unilabs Switzerland, Dr Dany Mercan, to discuss in detail, the science behind some of today’s diagnostic tools as well as some of the newer techniques we’re exploring to encourage early Alzheimer’s detection in our efforts to power health and maximise life. If you’d like to delve into the technical aspects of diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease, read our interview here. #Healthcare #Patients #HealthTech

How can AI-driven diagnostics save lives? Join us at the Ars Electronica Festival for Art, Technology, and Society in Austria, from 4 September. As an international leader in diagnostic services, this year's theme, “HOPE – Who Will Turn the Tide,” aligns perfectly with Unilabs’ mission to power health and maximise life. We're excited to showcase the ways in which Unilabs is already harnessing AI to revolutionise healthcare; to transform early diagnosis, advance research, and personalise diagnostic services. If you're attending the festival, don't miss our special panel session on ‘STARTS’ day on 5 September. This is a day focused to how we can reclaim, reimagine and regulate our digital landscape. Unilabs’ Head of AI Centre of Excellence, Claudio Silvestrin, will explore AI's future impact and considerations in clinical practice, alongside prominent digital researchers: - Albert Ortig, founder of Netural GmbH - Apolinário Passos (Poli), Head of Machine Learning for Art and Creativity at Hugging Face - Frederike Kaltheuner, Europe and Global Governance Lead at the AI Now Institute - Thomas Nayer, founder of Dogether For more details, visit: https://lnkd.in/gKmsGDyV #AI #arselectronica24 #arselectronica #Healthcare

Groundbreaking innovations in molecular profiling and targeted therapy are unlocking more precise and personalised approaches to diagnosis and treatment, transforming cancer patients’ fight against the disease. Our latest technology innovations range from allele-specific PCR, which can detect specific single-nucleotide variants (SNVs) in a patient's DNA, to next-generation sequencing (NGS) and more traditional methods like Sanger sequencing for detecting unknown mutations in genes. These tools allow us to identify known mutations that have implications for treatment decisions, and provide valuable information about single-nucleotide changes. Combined with targeted therapy, we are able to enhance treatment effectiveness while minimising damage to healthy cells and support a better quality of care and life for cancer patients. We interview with Unilabs’ Dr Jana Verebová on molecular testing and new cancer diagnostic tests here: https://lnkd.in/e4ftsHTY As research advances, we expect more targeted therapies and broader molecular testing, which will further transform cancer treatment and prognosis. #Cancer #Oncology #Healthcare
