DEPARTMENT NEWS | 🎉 Die University of Zurich rangiert an erster Stelle im neuen 𝐕𝐖𝐋-𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 der WirtschaftsWoche* und schneidet somit erneut als forschungsstärkste Hochschule im Bereich VWL im deutschsprachigen Raum ab – und zwar mit grossem Abstand. Seit zehn Jahren gilt die UZH in der DACH-Region als Nummer 1 in der VWL. Wie jedoch ist es dem Zürcher 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 gelungen, sich als Speerspitze der Wirtschaftsforschung zu etablieren? Und die Besten ziehen wiederum die Besten an: In weniger als einem Jahrzehnt hat sich die Zahl der Professuren nahezu verdoppelt - Die Zahl der Professuren wird sich im Jahr 2024 auf 37 erhöhen. Gleiches gilt für die Bandbreite der Forschung: Umweltökonomie und Gender Economics werden bald zu den neuesten Professuren zählen. RESEARCH | A new study by Ana Costa-Ramón, Ursina Schaede, Michaela Slotwinski, and Anne Ardila Brenøe highlights the importance of raising awareness about the long-term financial implications of part-time work to help mothers make better-informed decisions for their future. As consumers, we often face a trade-off between cost and conscience.
