Vetropack wins the Austrian State Prize Smart Packaging 2024! 🏆 We are very pleased to announce that Vetropack's 0.33-litre reusable bottle made of tempered lightweight glass has been honoured in the “Packaging of the Future” category! 🎉 The 0.33-litre reusable bottle, made of thermally tempered lightweight glass, was developed by our research and development team over a period of almost ten years. This bottle is now available as a standard solution to the entire Austrian brewing industry and is making a significant contribution to achieving the refillable quota. ♻️ A wonderful example of its use is the new “Gösser Biostoff Lager” beer bottle, which has been available since 2024. 🍻 We are proud to have a positive impact on sustainability and innovation with our technology. Congratulations also to the Mohrenbrauerei, which has been successfully using their own version of our reusable bottles made of lightweight glass since 2019 and has been nominated with our bottle in the category “B2C: Sales Packaging for Private Consumers” 👏 Read more on our website: https://lnkd.in/dayh53_x

🔄 Local recycling of glass packaging is the key to Europe's sustainable future! Did you know that only 9.6% of glass packaging is recycled through export channels, of which only 0.7% is recycled outside the EU? This is the result of a study published by Close The Glass Loop and based on Eurostat data from October 2023. In an international company like Vetropack, it goes without saying that people speak many different languages. However, there is one language that is not taught at school: the sign language used in the hot end. As it is very difficult to understand what people are saying next to the production machines, employees in these areas communicate with their hands and feet. Look at the pictures of different sign language gestures and choose the answer you think is correct for each one. Once you've chosen the answers to all three gestures, the capital letters will give you a solution word that you can share with us in the comments! 😉👇 Many thanks to our colleague Florian Dick from Pöchlarn for showing us the special sign language used in the hot end. 👏

From 120 down to 30! A logistics productivity boost 🚀 In 2018, our logistics team in Pöchlarn faced long truck wait times, inefficient processes, and high CO₂ emissions. Today, thanks to the power of time window management (TWM) and team collaboration, we’ve transformed this challenging situation into a success story for both Vetropack and our freight forwarders. 📉 By implementing the Elogate tool with time slot booking for trucks, we reduced loading times from 2 hours to just 30 minutes. This shift has not only improved logistics productivity but has also delivered key benefits: ✅ Smoother operations ✅ Optimized staff deployment ✅ Increased occupational safety ✅ Reduced truck waiting costs ✅ Lower CO₂ emissions This achievement is a true team effort, proving how innovation in logistics, combined with collaboration across stakeholder groups, can deliver major wins for both #productivity and #sustainability. We have committed to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50.4 percent by 2032 from a 2021 base year. We have further committed to reduce absolute scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel- and energy-related activities and upstream transportation and distribution by 30 percent within the same timeframe.
