A big thank you to you and Andreas Wehowsky for organising a week full of engaging and interesting lessons! We also want to extend our gratitude to all the speakers for their time and valuable insights. We could not be better prepared for the upcoming Vis Moot journey!

That‘s a wrap! This year's Vis Moot School Switzerland came to an end with an inspiring keynote address by Nino Sievi. For the second time in a row, the VMSS was held in a hybrid format and we were able to kick-off the Vis Moot season in style once again with a legendary Opening Party. It was another outstanding year with almost 120 participating moot teams across the globe and more than 400 (!) motivated students that followed the live sessions in person or online, or watched the recordings! Thank you all for your dedication! A big thank you also goes to our stellar line-up of speakers and supporters: Natascha Tunkel, Milivoje Mitrovic, Nanina Lätsch, Dilan Inkaya, Pietro Meineri, Celia Cañete, Helen Lehto, Katharina Constanze Roehl, Mirella Janett, Dilber DeVitre and Stefanie Pfisterer - thank you all so much! We are also very proud of Schellenberg Wittmer’s relentless support of new generations of talented lawyers! Last but not least, thank you to Professors Helmut Heiss and Leander D. Loacker of the University of Zurich for their trust in Andreas Wehowsky and me. And now: best of luck, rewarding work and fun to all the Mooties!

Meet our mootie of the day: Debora Lehmann discovered her passion for law during her apprenticeship as a commercial clerk in real estates, where she was already able to deal with her first legal issues. This was the decisive factor in her decision to take the supplementary examination «Passerelle» and then go on to study law. She is currently in the second semester of her Master of Law at the University of Bern and works alongside her studies as a real estate accountant at a leading real estate management company in Bern. The Master's lecture «International Arbitration» immediately sparked her interest in the Willem C. Vis Moot, which she sees as the ideal opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge she acquired at university to a practical case and to master it in a dedicated team. She had already enjoyed this during her short internship at a Zurich law firm. It also gives her an excellent opportunity to practise her rhetorical speaking skills, improve her English and get to know students from all over the world. In her free time, she enjoys sports, reading exciting books and socialising with friends.

Meet our mootie of the day: Jana Clarissa Haller began studying law in 2019 and is currently in the second semester of her master's degree. Early on she began to use her acquired knowledge to support fellow students and found employment as an instructor. In her additional work as an assistant manager of a municipal administration, she gained practical experience by managing their contractual agreements and committee work. Her studies awakened her interest in complex issues with international dimensions. She is eager to embark on this project with her fellow teammembers and to deepen her theoretical knowledge through the upcoming practical application. Furthermore, this experience offers her the unique opportunity to assess her rhetorical skills on an international stage. In addition to Janas professional activities, she supports the Junge Burgergemeinde Bern with her expertise and uses her position as a board member to support the future of tomorrow. In her leisure time, Jana can be found swimming in the Aare, engrossed in a book or in verbal, often multilingual, discourse.
